[I was reading in a weekly publication by BusinessDay, that the Al Qaeda/Muslim forces in the horn of Africa are being thoroughly crushed. It appears that America’s calling in of Ethiopia along with other limited military action by the US, has resulted in Al Qaeda getting throughly smashed. What remains to be seen though, is how Al Qaeda responds to this and whether they can make a come-back there, or whether they need to build up elsewhere.

So one needs to acknowledge this genuine US success – but it seems to go unnoticed in America – sadly. Jan]

They fled south with the defeated Somali Islamist fighters. Fazul is also the highest ranking operative in contact with clandestine al Qaeda networks in the Sinai Peninsula. His capture and interrogation would for the first time provide access to a primary source on al Qaeda™s precise plans for operations against Israel, but he has more than once escaped when his pursuers were hot on his heels.
