An AfricanCrisis RSS Feed anyone?

[I’ve been discussing the subject of RSS feeds with people, and I’m looking for ideas – existing ideas AND NEW ONES. I am sure I’ve mentioned in previous strategy emails that I want to turn AfricanCrisis into a type of “news processing centre” where it can do even more than it does now – much more – and where it also becomes a conduit for other websites, blogs, organisations, etc. It will interact with other websites and groups as well as giving them exposure. I am keen to exploit RSS feeds, but I also want to send out RSS feeds. But creating a proper outgoing RSS feed is something that could be even more effective if websites co-operated. I’m going to engage in some experiments with RSS feeds. But I als am interested in co-operating with blogs and websites regarding RSS feeds. Take crime for example. Imagine if there was a “South African Crime RSS Feed” pumping out daily crime info collated from dozens of sources… or an “Agricultural Crisis RSS” feed – detailing the problems that commercial farmers in S.Africa and other African countries are going through. One could collate official and unofficial data and pump it out… across the world… or an “Afrikaner Feed” or a “Zimbabwe Feed”. Take for example Zimbabwe Dollar exchange rate and inflation numbers. I’ve never seen anyone collating that data. I’m thinking of co-operating with people to create daily graphs of such data to show what is happening in Zimbabwe. I want to do new stuff with RSS feeds though… like sucking in data and processing it to create new feeds or doing other NEW stuff with it. How many people/websites are using RSS feeds. Would anyone be interested? I also want to know if there is any way of getting RSS feeds or posts on to the old USENET Forums. Remember the old News forums which were all over the Internet in the early days? I’m sure they’re still around in quantity and I want to look at feeding news into there if anyone has ideas or suggestions.
