The travel agencies in this country seem to be number #1 when it comes down to covering up crime. When Neil/Juan launched his CrimeExpo site you’ll notice the person countering him the most, Boshoff, was apparently linked to the tourist industry.

The tourist industry is valuable and they don’t want to spook the foreigners so they are trying to downplay all these negatives because then nobody will come to this country.

Remember the Liberals/Globalists, etc are the ones trying to portray a positive image of this county because according to their thinking that’s the only way to “save it”. That’s because at heart they’re also a bunch of defeatists who can’t/won’t stand up for anything concrete. This means accepting Socialists, Marxists and wannabe Robert Mugabes in power AND covering up their ineptitude as well as their DELIBERATE destruction of parts of this country. This is the sorry type of ass-kissing Liberal/Globalist/CIA approach – which to me appears to be just another way of accepting a dictatorship and going along with it. The ANC may not yet appear to be dictators but that is also coming.

So it is a most unfortunate FACT that these White Liberals start defending the ANC in order for them to make a buck out of tourists, instead of being honest.

I think it is immoral. I think it is downright evil making foreigners come here thinking all is safe. You know… a foreigner’s accent is so distinctive here… they stand out like sore thumbs… and no foreigner is MORE OBVIOUS THAN AN AMERICAN. That distinctive American accent is something you hear VERY RARELY on our streets… So when foreigners come walking around they draw attention to themselves very easily, and the criminals will go for them especially because of their foreign exchange.

Now here in S.Africa people talk about being “streetwise”. This is basically a state of mind you get in to in order to prevent yourself from being attacked/mugged/robbed. Most people who live here become “streetwise” and they do the little things that prevent you from being an easy target. Now a foreigner walking in our streets is like a sitting duck – an easy target. So I think it is quite despicable that people in this country deliberately downplay and LIE about the dangers here and lure unsuspecting tourists into dangerous places. These tourists who are brought into the townships – that’s pretty crazy stuff. Most of us whites never even go into the townships – and here they bring the unsuspecting white foreigners in! Look at all those German travel agents – a whole BUSLOAD – robbed last year in a township!

And in the past on AfricanCrisis I’ve put up stories of tourists who were shot dead or injured.

So in that sense, Neil/Juan and his CrimeExpo was doing a good honest piece of business whereas Boshoff is being unprincipled and is downplaying the dangers of this country.

To say that our crime rate is no worse than any major city is ridiculous. Our Govt doesn’t even put out honest crime stats and EVERYBODY IN THIS COUNTRY ACCEPTS THAT. There is hardly one living soul in this country who BELIEVES our Govt’s crime stats. Even the blacks know its a lie. So to take our highly fudged crime stats and to then tell tourists its not dangerous is downright irresponsible if not actually CRIMINAL.

It disgusts me to hear that people are lying so openly to you people over there in the USA. Africa is dangerous my friend. Make no mistake – and tourists are easy pickings. Over here, they’ll blow your brains out without thinking twice. But everybody in this country is so DESPERATE FOR BUSINESS of course, that I suppose the tourist industry will twist things just to get some.

The ANC is putting a damper on foreigners in another way. They don’t like foreigners buying land here, and they’re going to slow that down. Stopping the foreign purchase of land is an old African trick. They do it in every African country. The fact that they’re starting this nonsense in SA is just another sign that we’re going to follow the well-trodden African path to destruction. Jan]
