[This is a lovely little Afrikaans tribute to “oom” (uncle) PW Botha. Basically, the writer thanks PW Botha for a lovely childhood when people were safer, doors could be left open and one could even give some food to a beggar without fear of being murdered. It ends by saying, “rest in peace” because S.Africa is no longer so nice. Amen I say! PW Botha was more of a man than any of the scum who followed him. And as for HONESTY… the ANC doesn’t know the first thing about honesty. PW could have taught them a LOT! That filthy scum like them should “sit in judgement” of him is disgusting. I saw a news headline to the effect from Bishop Tutu that PW will be judged by God. Let Tutu be reminded that GOD WILL JUDGE HIM TOO. At least PW Botha fought Communism at every twist and turn but the same cannot be said for Tutu. Tutu should think carefully about his convenient support of the ANC and the living hell which continues to come upon ALL the people of this country… and he should repent before God sends him off to a warm place for MISLEADING HIS FLOCK!!! I think Tutu should be careful before shooting his mouth off against PW Botha. I’ll bet PW Botha was more of a real Christian than Tutu ever was. Die koerant is nou vol stories van hoe bang die mense wat saam met jou gewerk het vir jou was, want jy glo was ongenaakbaar, hard ensovoorts, ensovoorts. Dankie dat ons sommige aande met n oop voordeur kon slaap sodat die koel somerbriesie die hitte kon verdryf. Dankie dat ons boeties in vrede by die dam kon gaan visvang en sommer op n slaapslak langs die viswaters kon slaap. Dankie dat ons in jou tyd nie met geslote motordeure hoef te gery het nie. Dankie dat ons in jou tyd nog vir die boemelaar by die hek n broodjie en koffie kon gee en nie soos nou bang-bang deur due kombuisvenster vir hom skree “voertsek” nie. Dankie dat ons in jou tyd nog vir mekaar omgegee het. Vandag weet ek nie eers wie my bure is nie. Almal is net te bang om betrokke te raak. Dankie dat jy vasgestaan het in jou geloof en dit wat jy gedoen het en niemand onverskonning gevra het vir dit wat in jou tyd as heerser gebeur het nie. Ek se: “viva oom PW, viva”. Rus in vrede want Suid-Afrika is nie meer lekker nie. |
