Some of you may know that Oprah has created an amazing and unbelievable girl’s school here in S.Africa for 350 black girls. Oprah HAND-PICKED each student.

Oprah has poured millions of dollars of her own money into this school and so too has the S.African Govt. The S.African Govt has managed part of this project. This school is the best of the best. Nothing even close to it exists in S.Africa. It is an experiment where they take hand-picked black girls and they put them in the most incredible surroundings and then teach them.

I suppose this is the ultimate experiment in the theory that one’s ENVIRONMENT shapes your character. I saw some of the girls Oprah picked on S.Africa TV some weeks ago and to me, these girls seemed to think they could reach the stars. I thought that they overrated their own potential and abilities. Anyhow… this is a very important project and a lot of security surrounds it too.

Here are some photographs of Oprah in S.Africa. The first two photos were taken about 3 years ago and you can see that Oprah is a guest of the Gauteng (Johannesburg) Provincial Govt. The school is located at a small town called Henely-on-Klip (I’m not sure of the exact spelling).

By the way, do you know that Oprah’s show is no longer shown on S.African TV? The SABC does not run it any more. Instead that have that boring, brainless bimbo Tyra Banks on there… My personal suspicion is that the SABC probably can’t AFFORD Oprah’s TV show any more.

About 3 weeks ago Oprah came to S.Africa (she comes and goes quietly) .. for the roof-wetting ceremony. From what I hear, there was a lot of trouble with the local contractors in building this school because as you can imagine building standards in this country are not what they should be. But eventually everything was sorted out. In this photo below, Oprah is standing on a fire engine. Apparently her arrival was so quiet that few knew she was there and she got on the microphone and started with, “I am Oprah Winfrey…” (as if she needs an introduction even in S.Africa)… The photos below are from that day when she was here for the roof wetting ceremony.

It is going to be interesting watching how this school progresses – because this is high publicity stuff – and they’re pulling out ALL THE STOPS. There will be 350 black girls (only black girls can go to this school as I understand it – going there – please correct me if I’m wrong)… So no doubt they are expecting huge things from those 350 black girls…

I of course have my doubts about this because of two reasons:-
a) Scientifically we know that 70% of intelligence is hereditary.
b) The actual IQ of blacks in Africa is quite a bit lower than the IQ of blacks in the USA because blacks there are more of mixed race (what we call coloured over here). So what I’m saying is that blacks in America have an innate chance of achieving more than blacks in Africa do.

So for me, this school is in a sense a fascinating semi-Scientific EXPERIMENT… So the short and long term results of this experiment will be fascinating… and like I say, even out GOVT is going to be watching everything to do with this school like a HAWK!!
