When I was at the post office the other day I picked up this pamphlet. I thought I would show people outside S.Africa how Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) works. Don’t be FOOLED by the name! It doesn’t help the average black person except maybe on a small scale as in the example below.

S.African law FORCES companies over a certain size to have various racial quotas for their workers and also for their OWNERSHIP. All-white-owned companies are NOT ALLOWED!!! But if a company was ALL Black-owned – that would be fine! But 100% white ownership is NOT ALLOWED. You can have it – but they will force you to pay huge fines.

By the way, I think Microsoft and some foreign companies are the only ones who have been able to muster the clout to get an EXEMPTION in this respect!

What a lot of companies did was they tried to get a few “rich” or “politically connected” blacks to buy their shares. But many of these blacks don’t even have a fraction of the money to do this. So some of the more creative companies, in this case NASPERS (which is an Afrikaans owned company: “National Press”), have decided to get their BEE quota by offering share schemes which only non-whites can join in.

First National Bank also has such a BEE scheme for its non-white staff.

As many whites have commented, we now have black Apartheid. The ANC has created a new Apartheid which EVERYONE refers to as “equality”. And most people actually believe that! Well, it isn’t equality. In this case, its no different to Apartheid except that in this case its something non-whites can do but whites can’t do. (Note under Apartheid, whites could not own black minibus taxis – only blacks could!).

Here is a close-up of the 2nd page. I put in a red arrow to point to an interesting statement. For every R10 which a black person puts in to purchase shares, NASPERS will put in an ADDITIONAL R40 – so that this BEE company can eventually buy up a set portion of Multichoice. So in effect, for every R10 that a black person invests, they actually get R50 worth of shares! Nice hey? So if you’re black you get money literally given to you. Make no mistake, there are people like Cyril Ramaphosa and many other “former” ANC politicians who made tens of millions of rands like this. They were literally GIVEN tens of millions by white-owned companies because otherwise, the ANC’s quotas could never be met! Cool huh? You get money just for being black!
