[I listen to Khaya FM in my waking moments before I get up in the mornings. It is a station run for a mainly black listenership which is one of the reasons I listen in.

This morning I heard a fascinating economic commentary and I was almost open-mouthed when I heard it.

The Financial Commentator (no idea what his name is), but all the presenters seem to me to be black was talking about the Rand/US Dollar jitters and how the Rand is teetering like never before.

Then he went on to say that if Jacob Zuma becomes the President that the “Rand would be under a lot of pressure”. He said that the market is jittery because foreign investors are uncertain as to whether the ANC’s current economic policies will remain in place and that is why the Rand is not doing well.

He did not say the Rand would collapse – but the way I read it – under those diplomatic words – it would amount to as much. It won’t be totally worthless, but it could be a FRACTION of its current value.

So my advice to people is… if you own foreign currency, then cling to it. Don’t change it into Rands. You might look back on the Rand’s current value one day as “the good old days”.

Remember, in 2000, before Mbeki’s CIA and Globalist buddies came to save him, the Rand was CRASHING… I still lost some money that I returned to S.Africa (because I had no choice at the time) – at a shocking R13 to the US Dollar!

I think we could return to that… and maybe even worse… I’m wondering about R20 to a US Dollar within 10 years. At some time we should start laying bets on this!!!

So if you have money you want to move into foreign currency – into real money – like the US Dollar, Pound or Euro – do it in the near future. I think the long-term prognosis for the Rand is going to shock people. Jan]
