Take a look at this awesome piece from the New York Times. Here are more details of Captain Smith who is one of only 150 volunteers from the USA who came to fight against Mugabe and his likes. Note he commanded black troops in Rhodesia. Note too, his comments about the spirit of the people, and the difference between the war there and the war in Vietnam. Smith is actually an ex-Journalist who went to fight in Vietnam and Rhodesia. Isn’t this guy awesome? And these days, he’s one of the regular readers of my website. I think Capt Smith is an amazing man, who fought for things he believed in and not for money. As a Rhodesian, I take my hat off to him. Maybe one day we can return the favour buddy!!! Jan |
