[I have no doubt that someone, somewhere in the media… possibly a communist or terrorist mole… saw the advantage in using Cindy Sheehan as a useful idiot. And so now, they keep inundating people with the story of this completely stupid woman who has no conception of what is going on in the world. She is another useful propaganda idiot.

Hi Jan:
You pushed a hot button for me when you mentioned Cindy Sheehan! I am convinced Ms. Sheehan’s meteoric rise to international recognition is due to the power of the press. This fact may also point to the morally bankrupt condition of the press.

The saddest part is that her son died fighting for the freedom of America, a hero. Yet his own mother’s spotlight as an anti-war activist will forever overshadow his effort and death.

Equally sad is how the press mostly ignores other causes as in the case of South Africa. Your efforts and those of others. In July-August ’03 Malcolm Wren and Anthony LoBaido walked across England in one of the hottest summers on record tying ribbons along the way in rememberance of slain South African farmers. Where was the press on that one?

Here in the United States in March ’04, Don Pengelly of Dallas organized a peaceful demonstration at the site of the JFK shooting to bring attention to the plight of South African farmers. I flew there from my home here in New Orleans to join with Don, his wife, Malcolm who flew all the way from England and a few others. Where was the press???

Another stinger was just before we were to gather in Dallas, Don and his wife drove to the Crawford Ranch on a weekend when the President was there. They were going to try to talk to the press and see about getting coverage. Keep in mind Crawford was where Sheehan launched her “media tour.” The Pengellys were not so fortunate with the media — they were turned away and not too graciously.

Oh well, while the media is busy creating smoke screens there are still real stories going on. Most truly great efforts are carried out by a remnant, not great numbers.
