Thank you for the article informing your readers about South Africa becoming the world’s murder capital. Sadly, the new South Africa is in the midst of a brutal crime wave and people are being tortured, raped, and murdered on a daily basis. And, despite extraordinary security measures, the violence is escalating. I can’t imagine why the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) would choose Johannesburg to host the 2010 World Cup.

I marched against apartheid in the 1980’s and always wanted to visit post-apartheid South Africa–even after the young American, Amy Beil, was lynched there while assisting voters prior to that country’s first free
elections. When members of my family planned a trip to go on a safari and see the famous Victoria Falls in southern Africa, I was thrilled to do the research for them; however, a very simple online search led me to Web sites
that exposed the horrific violence in Zimbabwe and the heinous crimes being committed in South Africa, including the brutal murder and rape of tourists.

Other gruesome facts I learned about South Africa include that it has the highest per capita murder and rape rates in the world, baby and child rape is common, muti-murders (body parts removed from victims often while they’re
still alive) are not uncommon, torture and ethnic cleansing is taking place in the form of the well-documented Boer genocide (also known as the (28)farm
murders(29)), and, last but not least, tourists have become extremely soft targets because the mainstream media simply are not telling it like it is. Unknowing tourists are often victimized within hours of their arrival.

It may very well be a bloodbath when visitors descend on South Africa for the World Cup in 2010. That’s why this event is on the (28)no go(29) list of all my family and friends. I think FIFA was wrong to pick the crime capital of
the world as its venue. The Record provided a public service to its readers by warning tourists before it’s too late.

Hi John,

I had the most fascinating discussion with another S.African blog owner last night. We were discussing “vigilante journalism”, and I changed it a bit to “Guerilla Journalism”. For example, my news story about 63,000(43)+ criminals to be released… was based on an eTV story, but nobody else dared be so bold about the same thing.

He was discussing the effect websites like mine were finally having. I said to him, I am quite stunned myself at how many sites are springing up, and the effect we’re having. He felt that we are even driving the Mass Media here slightly to the right.

This style of telling the direct truth in a no-nonsense fashion is starting to take hold. Who would have thought things could actually start changing? I’ll discuss more about this later.

Thanks a ton for the letter you sent off. We need this kind of thing badly. And I urge people to quietly, PLEASE, “do your bit”, tell your friends, write a note on a forum, write to an editor. Write mails, write letters. Just do a little bit here… each of you… because we’re going to COMPLETELY UNDO the type of LIES which the CIA and MI6 used to help create this country with all its false impressions and twisted versions of the facts. I’m sick to death of it. People must just be BLUNT and DIRECT about this Crime-Loving Government of ours.
