Dear Sir

I am a white South African, living overseas.I decided to emmigrate as I could not live in a country where my rights were not being respected, where I was discriminated against, and where I am increasingly starting to believe, I was hated merely because of the colour of my skin.

My heart tells me that there is hope for South Africa; that all of its potential shall be realised, and that white and black and brown shall live together, respecting one another, and all contributing in their own unique way to making South Africa great. My head however tells me otherwise. Looking at economic indicators, crime statistics, value surveys, and the ‘feel’ of the country, I can see that there is little to no hope for white South Africans to successfully and safely live in the land of their birth.

I am extremely worried about the continuous increase of terrorism, murder and torture of white South African farmers. Just recently, we have seen the soles of a farmers feet being cut off, and burnt in boiling water; children doused in methylated spirits and threatened; a woman run over; and an elderly couple being tortured with bricks and a hammer. These are all worrying indicators of the present, and more disturbingly of what we can expect of the future.

I was not very popular amongst many South Africans back home, as I was continuously critiscing the government, and warning that white Africans were not welcomed by the Marxist ANC government. People did not want to hear the truth, or perhaps more worringly did not want to believe the truth. The ANC government, and many more militant organisations dating back to the resistance movement against Apartheid, believe that white people do not belong in their African ‘renaissance’, and are willing to get rid of us in any way possible, whether that be through discrimination, crime, or murder. I do not believe that I am being melodramatic or over the top. People did not believe that Hitler wanted to exterminate the Jews, despite his actions saying otherwise. Tootsies did not believe that the Hutus were willing to murder them in Rwanda. I use this word carefully, but it worries me that in South Africa, we are on the brink, or in the opening stages of a genocide, a Holocaust determined to rid the country of its ‘evil Apartheid’ element.

My greatest fear is that 20 or 30 years down the line I shall have to tell my children that they belong to an endangered species without a home, the white African. The question I ask myself daily, is what can be done to prevent such a situation from becoming a true reality. I admire your site, and read its articles daily, but more must be done. The world must be told, and convinced that there is a real situation in South Africa. Your white and coloured South Africans must be told and convinced that there is a real and present danger posed to them. I believe that many in the old Transvaal, and Free State are aware that they are under attack, but few in the Cape are. I would appreciate some correspondence from you discussing what can be done.

It sickens me that I cannot live in the country of my heart. Africa, and more specifically South Africa runs through my veins. The situation in South Africa breaks my heart daily, and I cannot sit around and do nothing any-more.
