[I find myself thinking an extremely strange thought these days, and it is a thought borne out clearly by history.

Could you ever have imagined I would say something good about Robert Mugabe?

But a regular black reader on my site, Shaka, has posted something which I will later put up. It is about the intervention of the Western world in Africa, even now. And the information and links he gives are good.

Now I always say that Robert Mugabe is a pathalogical liar, and, most of the time he is. He lies directly to his own people. He stares them in the face, tells them things will be better, and then goes on to do his own thing knowing full well that they will suffer more.

But there is one observation Robert Mugabe makes which is truly deep, and very true. He speaks about the concept of “Neo-Colonialism”. In other words, he says that Black Africans are not truly independent.

He is actually right.

I did not realise this myself, until I dug into the CIA’s activities in Africa, especially southern Africa.

Now most people will say that the United States of America is not a colonial power, never has been, and would never be. And yet, if you look at the CIA’s machinations in Africa, then you will see a strange thing.

The Europeans pulled out of Africa, and the Soviets and Chinese wanted to step in… but the Americans went in and undermined and took subversive control of many of the Soviet/Chinese political movements. The control was not “control” per se, but “subtle influence”, using money and political favours.

One could say that though the West officially pulled out of Africa, in practise, America, and certain European nations (France & Britain) took on a “Neo-Colonialist role”. In effect, European Colonialism was going to be replaced by Communism/Socialism, but then Liberalism dived in, and managed to gain an influence over African Communists/Socialists.

This partnership of Liberalism controlling Communist/Socialists has not worked well. You’ve had Liberals pumping in money to Communists/Socialists and the rest has been a stuff-up par excellence. The Communists/Socialists enriched themselves and their families, while their socialism destroyed the African nations. It was the worst partnership imaginable, and yet, many in the CIA are proud of what they did and think they did Africa a great favour – NOT!!!!

What is interesting is that White people in Africa, like White people in America also wanted to be independent of European rule. The Boers fought the British in a bloody war, and Rhodesia rebelled outright against England (the first British colonial rebellion since the American rebellion in 1776!)… and both white attempts at securing independence FAILED.

OFFICIALLY, the USA and Western world wanted blacks in power… but in reality… it appears to me, they preferred compliant black puppets… whom they could “influence”…

Having cheeky independent whites did not suit them, so they hoped for pliant black puppets.

So it is true that Africa is not truly free in all ways.

And this is important. Now in many ways, this Liberal/Socialist partnership did have benefits in the sense that Africa gets billions of dollars in free money. But it will never solve Africa’s problems. Africans did not learn anything from it. Effectively, black African countries became dependent on Western handouts.

The question is: If African leaders were to implement their dreams, where would Africa be? I would say, Africa would be much worse off. I’d say most of Africa would be even worse than it is now.

So I must admit that the Liberals did help the blacks, in a sense, because they feed them continuously (AND… they give them good press in the West – make no mistake about it – the Liberals hide many nasty things about Africa!).

But it is important to understand that Africa is “not what it appears to be”. Africa is not 100% controlled by black leaders. Some of their “successes” and “stability” are actually the result of Neo-Colonialist interference. Their governments appear to be better than they really are. S.Africa is the ultimate illusion. S.Africa is no different to one of David Copperfield’s illusions. And that illusion could disappear in a very short space of time, and when it does, people will be *SHOCKED* by what could happen here!!

Now blacks on the far left of the political spectrum may argue with me on whether neo-colonialism was good. I say it was good, because without it, things would have been worse. But my “good” is relative. Neo-Colonialism was never even close to the tremendous success of Capitalist Colonialism – which ROCKED! Neo-Colonialism is a wishy-washy mishy-mash of Liberalism and Socialism and its results are mildy mediocre. It can never compare with the tremendous internal, self-sustaining energy generated by unbridled Colonial Capitalism which could take a primitive state of huts and turn it into an industrial society within a century. But the third alternative, black socialism, is the worst of all.

Its funny that blacks don’t embrace CAPITALISM… which would be their best hope. But the Marxists have too much influence in African thinking, and that might take decades before anyone considers that idea. Blacks in Africa do not even think in terms of Capitalism. It is not even in their vocabulary.

What I did want to make clear though, is my acceptance of the reality of this notion of NEO-COLONIALISM. This is the one time when Robert Mugabe speaks the truth. I actually would have liked to hear him speak more about neo-colonialism and how it really functions.

I am in search for the TRUTH. If the Western world has “given Africa independence”, and yet continues to pull the strings on black puppets, then that too, is worth exposing. I think it is important for the TRUTH to be told.

There is a very interesting point… a point almost too bizarre to think about at first… but the concept that Africa is all Black Vs White, could end up on its head in this way: Whites who live in Africa consider themselves natives of the place. This is our home, this is where we live, and we have our own interests at heart. Ditto for the blacks. There is a strange meeting point … where Whites in Africa and Blacks in Africa actually do NOT want FOREIGN INTERVENTION HERE ANY MORE. Since the Boer war, more than a century ago, both Whites and Blacks have been struggling for a chance to be truly independent in Africa (they also wanted to be independent of each other – but that’s another matter!). The wars are there in history to prove that this was the case.

Of course, if ever we could get rid of foreign influence, we whites and blacks might just fight each other as “the tribes of Africa” juggle for supremacy among themselves – since we do regard ourselves as “The White tribe”. And we in the White tribe think we’d do pretty well for ourselves if we were left alone.

But it is an interesting way of looking at history, and something worth thinking about… the desire for Blacks AND Whites in Africa to rule themselves and to truly be free of foreign interference in our affairs.

I used to think that sometimes, the West did not like persons like Ian Smith of Rhodesia because he spoke his mind and told them where to get off. Ditto for PW Botha and Verwoed of S.Africa. And in some ways, the West may not have liked their “Cheeky White colonial off-shoots” who turned around to tell them when to stuff off!! And perhaps that played some role in seeking “black puppets”?

I don’t think that is so completely far-fetched as it may seem.

At the end of the day, all the Western world really cared about was access to cheap African minerals, and to hell with the actual development on this continent. They did not worry to much whether any of us here were better off afterwards or not. They cared as little for the future of the whites as for the future of the blacks. Jan]
