[Another strange and sudden event took place yesterday. I’ve listened to news reports about this one, and the event strikes me as rather strange.

It was reported that high ranking ANC Members of Parliament had NOT disclosed all their business activities as was required by law. This fact alone did not strike me as strange because I have often mentioned that this is how the ANC structure (and all Liberation movements) actually function. They get political power and they then use that to also make themselves stinking rich in the process. In Zimbabwe, some of them even get stinking rich and get away with hardly paying any taxes!!

So when this was announced, it did not seem strange to me – because this is pretty much how things really do work in the ANC as well – it is after all just another “typical” Liberation movement, doing all those same power-hungry, power-grabbing things which Liberation movements in Africa are known for, and they will typically try to get power in all its forms and cling on to it for dear life – and to hell with the so-called “democracy” which they apparently believe in so dearly!! In my book, Government by Deception, I referred to this as the desire for “Power – Forever”.

But very suddenly, President Mbeki fired Billy Masetla, the head of National Intelligence. And then it was stated on SABC that yes, these ANC MP’s names were on the database, but that was incorrect, because their names should have been removed because they don’t really have undisclosed financial holdings.

The main reason for Mbeki’s firing of Masetla was stated as “a break down of trust” between the two.

Later, on Khaya FM, I heard some more. They said that this would split the ANC camp further, and that Masetla had sympathies for Jacob Zuma!

So what exactly is going on?

This talk about “trust” and “broken trust” between Mbeki and the head of NIA strikes me as interesting. Is this a case of someone breaking the ranks, and being fired for it? Did the head of the NIA release facts which were damaging to the ANC, which Mbeki had asked him to specifically hide? So now… Mbeki and the ANC have to try to cover up these facts by pretending it was all a myth?

It appears to me, as if Mbeki specifically instructed the head of the NIA to delete these ANC names off this database, and he did not. And now, out come these embarrassing facts which could cause tremendous damage to the ANC’s (supposed) “image”. Believe it or not, but people outside S.Africa actually think the ANC is squeaky clean and quite different to other African Govts! (That’s a laugh!) So while for us, these facts may not mean much, on a broader scale, they could make the ANC look bad.

Mbeki was, after all, wining and dining the Italians the other day, and hobnobbing with their rich trying to get them to invest in South Africa!

It appears as if the ANC is now in full cover-up mode, denying all the facts which had come out of National Intelligence.

I find this firing very interesting. I also find the hint that this is related to Zuma interesting. This one will be worth watching. Jan]
