[Last night on Special Assignment they had a program about white poverty. Just two stunning stats from the documentary: According to Dirk Hermann of Solidarity, in the last 7 years White poverty has shot up by 150%.

He says that 1/4 of Whites now earn less then R1,500 (US$245) per month.
It goes without saying that the majority of these whites are also Afrikaners.

Take note: Whereas there is state intervention in black poverty, there is none among the poor whites. Soup kitchens, and assistance for poor whites is driven unofficially by other whites. The Afrikaner-dominated trade union, Solidarity, is the only proper structure in the country which actually donates money to poor whites. They have a charity arm called “Helpende Hand” (Helping Hand), which oversees various charities which assist white people.

People unfamiliar with S.African history might forget that there used to be a “Poor white” problem earlier in the 1900’s and especially in the 1930’s among Afrikaners especially. Its coming back with a vengeance.

But let me add another factor to this: Don’t think the Whites are the only ones suffering at the bottom end. On another TV News item (which I have yet to post), 140,000 Black Farm workers lost their jobs in S.Africa directly due to the increase in the minimum wages – which White farmers can’t afford to pay.

I have often remarked that the ANC’s deceptive slogan: “A better life for all” is a complete and utter lie. It is a better life for nobody, except for the few super rich blacks, and perhaps, the black middle class – which numbers in the hundreds of thousands. But across the board – MILLIONS – including blacks and whites are worse off.
