Jan] Dear Conrad As you can see that he is grouped with 100 other American students all studing at UCT. Dispite the fact that they are being nailed by muggers they love South Africa. I have given all 100 students free Travelbuddy panic buttons for their cell phones but guess what? You have been nominated as their support group. Firstly.If some one in Cape Town can please assist me sort out their mugger problem I would be grateful. Secondly, If at any time I call on you to assist a American Student please respond. South Africa is such a great place,lets make sure every one gets to hear how well we look after our visitors. Brendon has just informed me how the muggers have nailed another two students. Muggers Preying on UCT Students Reported By: Brandon Type of Incident: Mugging Incident Area: WESTERN CAPE, RONDEBOSCH, ROSEBANK Description: Over the past week, 10 Americans in my group of 100 Americans studying at UCT have been mugged in 4 seperate incidents in the Rosebank/Mowbray area along Main Road, just south of the UCT Campus. The muggers are working in a pack of 3, brandishing 2 guns and a knife at each attempt. They have been waiting for students, usually white females, though some males have been affected, to return home to gated private homes along York and Chapel st just off Main Road. They are targeting the students as they are waiting for the gate to open. These are most certainly the same perpetrators and they are preying on students, especially white, american, female students. This is a shame and we must catch these three. Please be on alert in the early dark hours along Main Rd on the residential streets adjoining it, particularly York and Chapel in Rosebank. They have attacked a group as large as 4 that had 1 male in it. They are waiting with 2 men at the corner of Main Rd and the ! other further down the street, cornering their victims just off Main Rd.
