[This is something from the USA, and I think it is hillarious! I think Gary’s forecasting stone is probably a lot more accurate than our SABC Weather Bulletins which seem to change by the day.

I’ve been wondering in recent months whether the Weather really is WEIRD… or whether the complete inaccuracy of our weather bureau is related to Affirmative Action!!

I marvel, with my friends and family at the complete inaccuracy of our weather forecasts in the last year or so. Of late especially, I have watched how the weather maps change completely, to the opposite within 24 hours. Forget about forecasting 2-4 days ahead. They can’t even get 24 hours ahead right any more. And then I began wondering… is the weather really so strange or is this another legacy of ANC Affirmative Action and racial quotas?

I began musing, to friends, that maybe the way our weather is “calculated” goes something like this: An Affirmative Action Meteorologist perhaps walks out the door, looks at the sky and then says, it’s cloudy… so let’s forecast rain for the week. Then the next day it is sunny, and they change their forecast to the total opposite…

I must chuckle… we’re going back in time. In World War II, long before satellites, meteorologists using data which is primitive by today’s standards were forecasting the weather for days in advance. Here we are in 2006, 60(43)+ years later, and we can’t get 24 hours right.

I figure, Gary’s forecasting stone is as good or better than the S.African Weather Bureau and we should try to interest the ANC in buying it for what… R1 billion hey? Jan]
