[One of the readers of my website sent this email. I’m not sure of the Reader’s exact background, but judging by the email address, the Reader is a Zimbabwean – possibly a black Zimbabwean.

He is probably right in saying that Zimbabweans are hoping that Americans or South Africans will fight Mugabe.

I do understand that a man cannot be (realistically) expected to fight with NOTHING. Which is why I said that in the long run, if Zimbabwe is to be freed from the ravages of Mugabe and Zanu(PF) – and let’s remember that Zanu(PF) will continue in power once Mugabe is dead – then they must make a plan.

Fighting is NOT an easy thing. It is extremely difficult in fact, assembling a military force, and yes, most of the time, only Governments have access to the monies, skills and weaponry required to fight even a small war. So I can understand that people don’t want to fight with their bare hands – I would never advocate that.

I think however, that Zimbabweans, especially the more educated, wealthier and capable ones, should seriously give thought to such a long term project, because personally, I can’t see Zimbabwe being rid of Zanu(PF) in any other way. If Mugabe lives another 9 years (as per that estimate), rest assured, Zanu(PF) will be around for another 10 after that – at the very least. Do people really want another 20 years of Zanu(PF)?

The Reader below says that Zanu(PF) are FIGHTING Zimbabweans every day. I totally agree. Mugabe uses force, terror and all other means of coercion all the time to keep people in place. Somehow, people need to be organised so that they can hit back.

And I do believe, with the continual implosion of Zimbabwe, that with each passing day, the chances of a Military Project succeeding, are growing. Mugabe and his Zanu(PF) structures, even with Military backing, are slowly but surely weakening. Revolution is definitely possible.

I believe, that if Zimbabweans took some of the monies, which they ploughed into the MDC and channelled it instead into creating even a small military force, they would be starting along a path which could lead to freedom from the tyranny and hell they are currently living in. So much money has gone into the MDC, and has been wasted on campaigning for ballots – which Mugabe ignored anyway. That money would have been far better spent on rifles, bullets and training young men.

The MDC received millions of dollars. I know. I even know who one of its secret donors was because I spoke to him once (but got nowhere!). I know that one donor alone, was responsible for personally giving the MDC US$500,000 per annum. How much money did the MDC get in total? I’m sure, much more. With the kind of funding that the MDC got, it is quite possible to rather create another type of organisation – a “military wing” and to invest in it. There are plenty of Zimbabweans outside Zimbabwe who earn money and who can make small donations or pay “membership fees”. There are millions of Zimbabweans in S.Africa – most also earning money in here.

It is possible that MOST of Zimbabwe’s ECONOMY is now located OUTSIDE ZIMBABWE. Monies and donations from these sources could be channelled into an organisation which will build a military force to fight Mugabe.

There are hundreds of thousands of Zimbabweans outside of Africa. Why don’t they collect funds together, and start forming something? I find it hard to believe that there isn’t enough money around for Zimbabweans to fund their own liberation struggle – without the help of America or South Africa.

And if they formed their own military force, then they would see that the US Government would start taking them much more seriously.

Talk is cheap, wastes a lot of time and mostly brings no results.

If Zimbabweans want to be freed from Zanu(PF) rule, they must show Zanu(PF), the ANC and also the US and other Governments that THEY MEAN BUSINESS!!! Jan]

Thanks for your newsletter. Most Zimbabweans are cowards and will never think on such line. They choose to have their wives, children and property taken away by Mugabe’s Zanu pf rather than fight.

They want America or Mbeki to fight for them. Which is foolishness. Mugabe needs force. They are not a government but a bunch of criminals. Zimbabweans say we cannot fight but Zanu pf is fighting them every day. Who can make them wake up?
