[One of the regulars on my site, who does not hold the same views as myself, sent me these comments about Eugene Terblanche. I was wondering myself what other people thought of Eugene Terblanche.

From what I was able to pick up, from recent articles about him, is that he is actually drawing quite a lot of people who want to listen to what he has to say. He is by no means finished. He seems to have a new lease on life that he did not have before.

Just some comments about what the writer below writes. In the Afrikaans article I read about Eugene: He and his wife are very close. He has an adopted daughter and it seems that his life in jail brought him very close to his family.

It appears that some people also helped him afterwards by giving him cattle. He is over 60 and deeply in debt. But people have been helping him. He has a positive outlook on life.

Re: Adulation
Most men do have an eye for women. Eugene Terblanche wouldn’t be the first, nor last man to fall for a beautiful woman. He is, after all, actually human!!

Re: Siener Van Rensburg
Well, “the Boer Prophet” is a facet of Afrikanerdom which we must accept. He did exist, and his prophecies spell out hope for the Afrikaner view of the future. The mere thought of a future Afrikaner state gives many people, including myself, hope.

Of course, after reading Battles of South Africa, and just pondering history in general, the Afrikaner spirit is strong. Afrikaners are a cheeky, independent kind of people. They got away from British rule, fought wars, lost, and still went on to rule again. If anyone thinks that the Afrikaner spirit died in 1994, and that it will remain dead – they’ve got another think coming. Afrikaners have been “full of it”, for almost 300 years, and I’ll bet they’ll be the same 300 years from now. Having an attitude and a will to survive is crucial for actual survival.

Although Blacks might like to think they’ve seen the end of White aspirations in Africa, I think they’re mistaken. The last group of people they have yet to tangle with, properly, are the Afrikaners. (I doubt other Black Nationalist aspirations has died either – e.g. Zulus, Biafrans, etc).

It could be that by putting Eugene Terblanche in jail, that the ANC actually did him a favour. For most Whites, the thought of rotting in a filthy African jail is a horrible thought. The fact that ET did his time, wins him a certain amount of respect and pity. One can see that in the way many people treated him since he left.

Now what do I think of Eugene Terblanche, and many other whites?

I have, with time, adopted a different view of White Africans who differ in viewpoint from me. I have also realised that sometimes, others have got some valid points – both to the LEFT and the RIGHT of me. You know, life is complex, and people see different sides of the coin.

I’m starting to accept the fact that deep down, all whites are looking out – for themselves and for other whites (mostly). Take the Liberal Whites. They’re hoping that by kissing ANC butt, that they can improve the disposition of blacks towards us, and thereby, save us from a Zimbabwe fate. To a certain degree, their logic is correct. By doing what they’re doing, they’re buying us “morality points” – which will one day come in handy.

Then there are the Eugene Terblanche types, who just want to get down, start a war, and fight madly until we get what we want. There’s nothing wrong with being prepared to defend ourselves and in desiring our own country. Blacks had the same dream. We can have it too.

I am glad to see that Eugene Terblanche has changed his tune somewhat from being so confrontational though. I think it is important that he steps back from the gun, and seeks the Bible. Its good that he thinks deeper thoughts. I am not one who believes in killing just for the love of it. I believe, that one needs to know, spiritually, where you stand before you act.

Then there are guys like those who tried to kill Chris Hani. Again, they believed they were doing something for our cause. I have absolutely doubt that their type of terror/assassination approach has absolutely no value for our cause and will not help us at all. But I do appreciate the fact that they tried.

One of the things about us White people is that we are free thinkers – and therefore, it is acceptable that there will be many points of view.

I have also realised, that some things I say, need to be modified, or rethought because I changed my mind and maybe, someone on the Right or Left, made me think again. I am NOT always open-minded. Most of my views are formed. But, I do think I will tolerate lots of points of view of other whites because, everyone is doing what he thinks is best for our survival.

I think, that there ARE NO CLEAR ANSWER ON HOW WE CAN SURVIVE, and that is why we have so many viewpoints and that’s why we differ. But I do believe, that the day may come, when our viewpoints may converge more. But when it occurs, however long it may take (decades even), it will be a natural result of our experiences.

My attitude these days, is to remember this: That in the end, whether it be Eugene Terblanche or Tony Leon – we are all in the same boat. If the ANC/SACP fries us, they’ll be frying ALL OF US. We might as well realise that our fates are intertwined.

Indeed, if the day comes when they fry us, then I will be glad for the AWB or other military types who might yet save my life.

So these days, I don’t sit in judgement too much of other whites who differ from me – because their points of view, under certain circumstances have validity. I do believe of course, that in the end, the ANC’s failures will be blamed on us, and hatred will be brought down on us as a whole. So while, for example, the Liberal approach NOW, is actually pretty cool and wins us points with Blacks and people outside the country, the fact is that I think, in the end, I’m banking on the ANC playing the race card in a big way. The Right, and Far Right, is really the result of a COMPLETE DISILLUSIONMENT WITH BLACK PEOPLE. Totally. It is the realisation that in the end, failure dogs them, like night following day. And when failure comes, they will cling to power, no matter what.

I made a conscious decision quite some time back, that I’m not going to run around bad-mouthing other White people in Africa. If there is to be dissension and in-fighting, I will do my utmost not to be a part of it, nor to incite it.

Eugene Terblanche can be what he is, but the fact remains, he is one of us. And like myself, and many others, he too is thinking about our future, wondering what it holds. And like me, he has zero faith in the ANC.

These days I see how the Afrikaner spirit manifests itself. It does so in a non-military way. But people must not underestimate that spirit. The more the Afrikaners are hammered, the tougher it may make them.

With regard to the comments that Eugene Terblanche is a fake.

Well, I have written about people – whites – who may be there to lure other whites into a trap – whites who were Government agents. I can’t imagine Eugene Terblanche being a secret agent for the ANC – for the Nats – maybe – but the Nats are dead and gone.

I also don’t think that Eugene Terblanche is the leader of the Whites. The Whites have no leader. Tony Leon definitely is not. He is a multi-racial multi-cultural guy. We actually have no leader. And there probably won’t be one for a long time. Again, there is nothing wrong with this. There is no urgency. History teaches us that time and again, nobodies rise suddenly, in times of trouble to become leaders. George Washington and many others were catapulted forward when the time came and they were needed.

I also DOUBT that any existing “white leader” would be a leader for us in the future. Perhaps, De Klerk, to some degree is our “leader in abstentia”… if needed… but most likely, new faces will appear.

I don’t think Eugene Terblanche is the man who will lead us to the promised land. He is one of many players though.

I tend to see ET as a simple guy. A simple, rural type who is incensed and angry.

But I think, any leaders we will have one day, will be INTELLIGENT, EDUCATED types. People who will think deeply before doing things. People who are coherent and intelligent, rather than just driven by passion alone.

So whether he is a “fake” (which I doubt), or not, is largely irrelevant. ET will NEVER command the mass support of Whites. He does not have the intellectual appeal to do so. But he DOES have quite a following.

Whites are currently broken into groups, each in their own little circle. What is needed is for these various groups to one day unite. But that could be years, or decades away. It could happen. But whether it will happen in our lifetimes remains to be seen.

The Future remains a mystery, and what lies ahead for us, is an adventure. Jan]

WHAT happened with Janie Allen. WHERE is ET’s poor WIFE in all of this. ? The picture shows quite clearly that the man still has an eye for the woman. He obviously loves adulation. a VERY DANGEROUS trait in a so-called leader.

He has been reading to much “Siener van Rensburg” in prison. He quite obviously see’s himself in the role of the Afrikaaner hero in this drama.

He is also an “artist”. All we need now is to wait for his book
