[It should be as clear as daylight what Mugabe is up to of late in Zimbabwe these days.

The man is manipulating the Blacks, (or trying to), by using the Carrot and the Stick method.

On the one hand he smashes the homes of those who voted against him.

On the other hand, he is going to give farms to 6,000 Military Officers.

In all the time that Mugabe has ruled, he has ALWAYS, assiduously rewarded those who support him – ESPECIALLY the Military. Keeping the army’s loyalty has always been at the top of his list. He gives them huge salary increases, and is now turning them into land owners by giving them the farms he stole from the Whites.

It appears to me Mugabe will continue smashing his Black opposition while heaping rewards on those who support him.

But whether this will work, remains to be seen. It depends on how shallow the people are. Will they fall for it?

I don’t think there has ever been a ruler in history, who was hated and who then won back love and loyalty afterwards. It is my impression from history (though I am no expert and could be wrong), that once someone is hated, it only gets worse.

Also… can Mugabe deliver the country from the very hell he created in the last 5 years? Again, I doubt it very much.

So I think he will continue oppressing the Blacks, who will just hate him more – unless he is capable of some serious magic with the economy. That’s his only hope – but his track record on that is poor… so I doubt it.

So perhaps, the future will just see an ever greater polarity of hate growing in Zimbabwe between those who support Mugabe and those who don’t. If that is the case then, perhaps a Civil war could still occur. And frankly, I think such a course of action is the ONLY course of action which could help stem the tide of complete and utter insanity in that country.
