There is a lot of information in this archive. Use the SEARCH BAR at the top right. Prior to December 2012; I was a pro-Christian type of Conservative. I was unaware of the mass of Jewish lies in history, especially the lies regarding WW2 and Hitler. So in here you will find pro-Jewish and pro-Israel material. I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

The man at the forefront of Gauteng’s fight against crime, and his wife, who heads the Johannesburg City Safety programme, have themselves fallen prey to thugs.

Safety and Security MEC Firoz Cachalia and his wife Nazira were mugged at knifepoint while enjoying an evening stroll in the gardens surrounding Emmarentia Dam.

“The MEC and his wife were accosted by two knife-wielding men on Friday at about 6.45pm. But they were not physically harmed and are both well,” said spokesperson Dumisani Ngema, speaking on behalf of Cachalia on Monday.

He said the incident took place “in the same vicinity” as attacks on another two couples, apparently by the same two attackers.

“The important fact is that the MEC’s resolve to fight crime and improve public safety remains undiminished,” Ngema said.

Nazira Cachalia, who could not be reached for comment on Monday, was robbed of her ring and watch.

Police were silent on the mugging on Monday.

The acting station commissioner for Parkview, Superintendent Lindi Magadulela, when contacted by The Star, said she was unaware of an attack on the MEC and that she had not been informed of the matter.

“I have heard people saying the MEC was mugged, but no case has been opened by him and I haven’t spoken to him personally,” Magadulela said.

Asked if Cachalia had indeed opened a case at the Parkview police station, Ngema responded that he had not.

“The MEC has not had an opportunity to open a case on the matter due to his commitments over the weekend, although he did inform the station commissioner at Parkview police station (of the crime).

“He will open a case today,” Ngema said on Monday.

The Emmarentia area was again hit by violence on Monday morning when a woman was shot in a leg as a gang attacked security guards delivering cash to an ATM at a Shell garage.

The men fired randomly as the gang struck at about 9.30am, holding one security guard at gunpoint while they ripped the cash box away from his colleague.

Gauteng police spokesperson Superintendent Lungelo Dlamini said: “The security guard who was pushing a trolley with a bag of money was attacked from behind. While the gang members made their way to their getaway car, they fired several shots.”

A woman, who is believed to have lain flat on the ground when she noticed the robbery-in-progress, was hit.

Dlamini said the robbers had been lurking nearby when the security guards stopped at the garage to deliver the money, and robbed the guards of their firearms.

A 9mm pistol and an AK-47 rifle were discovered in a Land Rover found abandoned a few metres from the scene.

No arrests had been made.

The attacks come in the wake of Operation Community Awareness – an anti-crime drive by Parkview reservists, metro police and emergency services held between February 10 and 18. During the operation, reservists put in 185 unpaid man-hours.

The initiative saw 1 585 vehicles stopped and searched, 1 943 people searched, 53 arrests and 241 fines issued for traffic violations in a quest to step up protection of the precinct’s residents, which include the Cachalia family.

The precinct includes suburbs such as Emmarentia, Parkhurst, Greenside, Parkview and Westcliff.

Geoff Green of Precinct Web, co-ordinators of the project, said while the initiative had been a resounding success, it was not permanently sustainable without much-improved community support. He added that following the anti-crime drive, there had been a “spike in crime”, with six hijackings reported in the past week.

“This is extraordinary for this area, which generally experiences opportunistic crimes like cellphone thefts and housebreaking,” Green said. The area had a ratio of one police officer to 1 200 residents, and the success of crime-fighting relied on community involvement, he added.
