[Yesterday I posted a news item about Botswana talking about the call of “sharing the Wealth” which is really just a bunch of Communist code words meaning: Implement Socialism/Communism.

I used to admire Botswana quite a bit, given its excellent track record, compared to other Southern African countries.

But it appears to me, that with Zimbabwe on the one side, South Africa on the other and Namibia in its rear… Botswana is being affected too much and it is struggling to survive.

I know a Black woman from Botswana who works in S.Africa. She has been telling me about how they are battling with the influx of Zimbabweans.

It appears to me that Botswana will be unable to stave off the problems brought on by its socialist neighbours. Furthermore, the Socialism of the region is constantly trying to find a way to get into Botswana.

Malawi used to also represent sanity in a central-Africa gone mad. But in the end (and I suspect Mugabe played a key role in this), the pro-Western, pro-Capitalist govt there crumbled and since then, Malawi has been on the fast-track to Living Hell on Earth. Its economy is now in shambles.

It appears to me Botswana may yet walk that path. It is too small, too outnumbered to make it.

Think of Botswana like this: Imagine one man, one sane, reasonable, intelligent man, in the company of a horde of fools and idiots ALL OF WHOM ARGUE WITH HIM AND CHALLENGE HIS LOGIC. The fools, united in their idiocy shout him down and counter everything he says. Eventually, the sane man eventually begins to doubt his own sanity when he sees that everyone else is constantly agreeing that he is wrong. Eventually… alone… unaided… the sane man succumbs to the insanity.

It appears to me, that fate may be awaiting Botswana. Then the final Black nation that had any logic… will finally be gone. Jan]
