Jan] Johannesburg – The justice sector is lagging behind in transformation, Justice Minister Brigitte Mabandla said on Thursday. “It is common knowledge that the justice sector in some respects is lagging behind in transformation,” she said at the opening of a two-day conference on transformation in the justice system. Some of the problems facing the judiciary included racism, sexism as well as language. She said she was pleased that there was acceptance of the fact that race and gender prejudice within the judicial system was a problem. “There is enough commitment and intellect within the judicial system to face the challenges,” she said.
