S.Africa: Groom killed at his own wedding – by guests

[This is black-on-black stuff. Jan] Eshowe – A quarrel among guests at a wedding in Mbongolwane near Eshowe, KwaZulu-Natal ended tragically when the groom was fatally stabbed. Police spokesperson Superintendent Jay Naicker said on Monday that the fight broke out during the Sunday celebrations that carried on until late in the evening. “The bridegroom, Christopher Zulu, 41, tried to calm his guests down and intervened in an attempt to stop the quarrel. “While trying to separate the quarrelling groups, he was stabbed once in the back,” said Naicker. He said Zulu was certified dead on arrival at the Mbongolwane hospital. Naicker said police were looking for the suspect. He is on the run from police. Source: News24.Com |
