[This guy’s story is a laugh… he says he is amazed he did not wake up while she was being beaten!!! Jan] Kwamhlanga – A man charged with bludgeoning his girlfriend to death told police he was surprised to wake up and find her dead next to him. Neighbours called police on Saturday morning, after hearing a violent fight at the couple’s home in Moloto, KwaMhlanga, the previous night, said superintendent Malcolm Mokomene of Highveld area police on Tuesday. “We found her severely beaten and dead in bed. Her face was swollen and full of splinters,” he said. It’s suspected she was beaten in the face and on the body with a piece of wood, found lying nearby. Her boyfriend was not there, but was found at his own home later that day. He denied beating her and said he was surprised to wake up and find her in such a shocking state. He also said he was amazed he didn’t wake up when she was being beaten. He was unable to say why he’d fled the scene. He is in custody and has been charged with murder.
