[This appears to be a black man who did this. Jan] A four-month-old baby died after her father apparently kicked and stood on her in a domestic dispute, Free State police said on Thursday. Police Sergeant Thandi Mbambo said on Wednesday night an argument broke out between the baby girl’s mother, 21, and her father, 40. The baby’s brother, 5, and a grandmother were present during the incident at their two-bedroom house in Turflaagte near Bloemfontein. “The argument allegedly started after an ex-boyfriend of the 21-year-old mother alleged that the five-year-old brother of the baby girl was actually his child,” Mbambo said. Mbambo said during the argument about who the boy’s father was the 40-year-old man allegedly said to the young mother that it would be better if he killed his baby girl. “In the spur of the moment the father allegedly began kicking the four month old baby, who was sleeping on the floor,” Mbambo said. The police were called. “Paramedics declared the baby dead on the scene,” said Mbambo. The father was arrested and would appear in the Bloemfontein magistrate’s court on Friday on a charge of murder. – Sapa Source: Independent Online (IOL) |
