Bloemfontein – A 22-year-old man appeared in the Senekal magistrate’s court on Tuesday in connection with the beheading of his 63-year-old stepmother, Free State police said. About 700 people from Matwabeng township outside Senekal turned up at the court building where Aubrey Pheleu appeared on a murder charge. He was remanded in custody and would appear in court again on March 11, said police spokesperson Constable Christopher Mophiring. Earlier, police reported that Pheleu took his seven-year-old brother to a friend’s house in Matwabeng early on Sunday morning. After he left without a word, the friend noticed blood on the boy’s face and called the police. The boy allegedly told police his older brother had stabbed their stepmother, Mookgo Pheleu. Police investigated and Pheleu apparently showed them a headless body covered with a blanket in the yard. Inside the house, police found the head covered by a cloth, and also a human liver. The woman’s abdomen was sliced open. Two knifes were found next to the body, police said. Source: News24.Com |
