Bloemfontein – The family of deceased Paul Meintjes of Hertzogville, whose resurrection was predicted by a “prophet” after his death some five weeks ago, have reached a new agreement with the local mortuary, mortician Nico Foulds said on Friday. “In terms of the new agreement the body will stay in the mortuary at R1,000 a day,” said Foulds. He said the family met with him on Friday and paid the outstanding account of R9 250. Foulds on Thursday gave the family until the end of the day to remove the remains and pay the bill. The family however contacted him and arranged a meeting on Friday. Meintjes’ body had been kept frozen in the town’s mortuary since July 1 after a family prophet had predicted that he would rise from the dead. The family has been waiting ever since but no resurrection has so far occurred. Foulds told press on Friday that he would no longer talk to the media about the Meintjes saga. “I’m tired of this story. “The next time you will hear from me is when Meintjes walks out of here or when the family came to fetch him.” “I will call you,” said Foulds.
