S.Africa: Mystery of the Missing Dutch Student

WARNING: This is Version 1 of my old archive, so Photos will NOT work and many links will NOT work. But you can find articles by searching on the Titles. There is a lot of information in this archive. Use the SEARCH BAR at the top right. Prior to December 2012; I was a pro-Christian type of Conservative. I was unaware of the mass of Jewish lies in history, especially the lies regarding WW2 and Hitler. So in here you will find pro-Jewish and pro-Israel material. I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

S.Africa: Mystery of the Missing Dutch Student

[Note. This story has apparently received a lot of coverage in Holland. I think this woman is probably dead by now. She was last seen with a white man. Jan]

Senior Western Cape police investigators have refused to confirm or deny that an arrest has been made in connection with the disappearance of Dutch film student Marleen Konings.

But a well-placed source said police had arrested someone on Wednesday afternoon. The source could not give details.

Provincial police spokesperson Elna de Beer said early on Wednesday the police were to make “an important announcement” about the case that “would take the investigation to a completely new level”.

Later in the day, however, the police decided not to issue a statement, but they confirmed that the silver-grey Toyota Tazz Konings had hired had been found in Colesberg.

‘He is one of those kinds of guys you just don’t like’
Radio station SAfm also quoted a source as saying an arrest had been made, but De Beer said she could not confirm or deny this.

Meanwhile, the owner of the Wimpy restaurant in Oudtshoorn, Henry de Villiers, said he had little doubt that Konings and Rob Cowley, the man with whom the student was apparently travelling, had a meal there on Monday or Tuesday last week.

His wife, Fransien, and a casual waitress, Kay Justine, recalled seeing them when they saw a picture of Konings and a police identikit of Cowley in Die Burger newspaper.

“We don’t have much doubt that it was them,” De Villiers said.

“He looked nervous and I thought he was not happy with the service at first. He is one of those kinds of guys you just don’t like. There was something funny about him and he looked like a second-hand car salesman.”

According to De Villiers, Konings kept looking at Justine “as if she was looking for help”. He said Cowley paid the bill in cash.

A team of Dutch detectives arrived in South Africa on Wednesday to join local police in their hunt for the 24-year-old Dutch student.

She was reported missing by her friend of eight years, Winnie Lobeek, after she failed to arrive in Cape Town from Mossel Bay on December 29. Konings and Cowley left Mossel Bay on December 26.

Last week Konings was spotted at a petrol station in Riversdale. Police also suspected that she had used her credit card in Port Elizabeth. She was also spotted in Betty’s Bay.

Konings’s parents Edwin and Jose and younger sister Lotte flew to Cape Town from The Netherlands to help police in their search.
