I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

S.Africa: Pass rate criticism "racist" – How figures are fudged
[Note. Here we go… any criticism of the ANC is racist… Each year, the pass rate has gone up by a steady and unswerving 5%… and many have commented that the matric pass rate figures are fudged and manipulated. The ANC has changed various rules to allow figures to move up. For example, if students write their exams in a language other than English and Afrikaans, then they automatically get bonus marks. This rule is clearly aimed at blacks only. They also keep students back a year if they do not feel confident about letting them write matric. They also get more students to write Standard Grade rather than Higher Grade. All these tricks help to push up the marks. Jan]
Cape Town – The war of words over the standards of the recently completed matric exam will come to a head on Tuesday when the national education department intends to take on “uninformed critics” at a media conference.
On Sunday, an angry doctor Cassius Lubisi, chairperson of Umalusi, the council that has to certify whether the matric exam is of the correct standard, described as nonsense reports in a Sunday newspaper that an investigation was launched into the matric exam.
“The results of the matric exam are fixed. It is fiction, a flight of the imagination, to allege that the exam and results are being investigated. It is nonsense,” Lubisi stated.
“No announcement about an investigation has been made and no investigation is envisaged. It is a distortion of information that Umalusi released about continuing research.”
Lubisi said Thami Mseleku, director general of education, would hold a media conference in Pretoria on Tuesday to “put it categorically that government cannot influence Umalusi over the results and that no investigation will take place into the results”.
Mseleku told a Sunday newspaper that the criticism over the matric results was nothing but racism as it implied that it was impossible for black schools to improve their results.
“It is a racist issue. Why do people never ask whether the standards are dropping at white schools?” he asked in the interview.
“It is disinformation that results are being manipulated now that black pupils are also doing well,” the director general said about the criticism.
Government is apparently very sensitive to criticism after some of the country’s leading education experts, such as Professor Jonathan Jansen, dean of the education department at the University of Pretoria, and Salim Vally, of the centre for education policy at the University of the Witwatersrand, alleged that there was a political motive behind the results.
Both Jansen and Vally pointed out that an election is to be held this year and Jansen went as far as to suggest that it takes a special effort to fail matric these days.
The South African Universities’ Vice Chancellors’ Association added that matriculants were no longer prepared for the demands of tertiary studies.
