Less Americans would die in Iraq if they had Casspirs

WARNING: This is Version 1 of my old archive, so Photos will NOT work and many links will NOT work. But you can find articles by searching on the Titles. There is a lot of information in this archive. Use the SEARCH BAR at the top right. Prior to December 2012; I was a pro-Christian type of Conservative. I was unaware of the mass of Jewish lies in history, especially the lies regarding WW2 and Hitler. So in here you will find pro-Jewish and pro-Israel material. I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

Less Americans would die in Iraq if they had Casspirs

I agree with the retired Major General that the USA has been lured into a guerilla war in Iraq. In fact, I wrote articles on www.Etherzone.com earlier in 2003 saying exactly that, and warning that this could become “Vietnam II”. More Americans died “after the war was over” than during the war. The real war in Iraq is now on.

I should add that an Israeli friend of mine told me months ago he knows an Israeli General who also predicted this. The Israeli General predicted that the USA would have an easy victory, and then 6 months later the real (guerilla) war would begin. Jan]

Pretoria – The Americans looked down their noses at South Africa’s Casspir and Mamba when they considered armour-plating their troop carriers.

Today, they are paying dearly for that oversight. US troops in Iraq are being blown apart by explosive devices that rip their Humvees to shreds.

Wouter Lombard, a retired major general and military expert, says the US soldiers would have been “much safer” in a Casspir or Mamba.

Deposed president Saddam Hussein cleverly lured the American defence force into a guerrilla war without the Americans realising it, he says. The US never thought the war would be drawn out.

“Four years ago the American arms industry conducted a feasibility study into armour-plating their Humvees.

“South Africa made a presentation, but nothing came of it. The US still has only tanks and Bradley armoured cars that are mine-resistant.”

But even the Bradleys are not safe against the Iraqis’ knowledge of explosives.

Also, the tanks and Bradleys are too expensive to operate on a daily basis, and these heavy vehicles would destroy the road surfaces in no time.

“The US marines use a light armoured vehicle (LAV3), and the army is in the process of buying a limited number of them,” Lombard said. “So basically the soldiers in Iraq are left to their own devices,” said Lombard. AP recently reported that the Humvee has become a “lightweight death trap”.

In one instance, a troop riding in a Humvee was killed by a home-made bomb. In a desperate attempt to make the vehicle less vulnerable, his comrades loaded sandbags into the Humvee.

The Humvee was designed for rapid deployment and can move through water even with a heavy load, but the bodywork is made of fibreglass and aluminium.
