Lifeline on two wheels for Zim"s Aids victims

WARNING: This is Version 1 of my old archive, so Photos will NOT work and many links will NOT work. But you can find articles by searching on the Titles. There is a lot of information in this archive. Use the SEARCH BAR at the top right. Prior to December 2012; I was a pro-Christian type of Conservative. I was unaware of the mass of Jewish lies in history, especially the lies regarding WW2 and Hitler. So in here you will find pro-Jewish and pro-Israel material. I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

Lifeline on two wheels for Zim"s Aids victims

About 100,000 Zimbabweans, starving and incapacitated by HIV/Aids, are being thrown a lifeline by Red Cross Society volunteers – many ride through the countryside on bicycles to distribute food parcels.

And government officials are not purloining these parcels, as with food supplied by other relief organisations, because the Zimbabwean Red Cross is a “grassroots” organisation and has been accepted by the state for many years.

This is the message from Alasan Senghore, head of the southern African delegation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and South African leaders of the two societies.

Between 700 and 1,000 home-based carers, most on bicycles, delivered the food parcels to orphans and people with HIV/Aids in rural Zimbabwe, said Mark Tainton, programme director for the South African Red Cross.

Most people were given maize, but the sick received soups and a food like ProNutro. Seeds and tools were handed out so people could grow vegetables, but because of the lack of water in the country, the seeds had been eaten.
