Mugabe buys heavy riot control gear from Israel

WARNING: This is Version 1 of my old archive, so Photos will NOT work and many links will NOT work. But you can find articles by searching on the Titles. There is a lot of information in this archive. Use the SEARCH BAR at the top right. Prior to December 2012; I was a pro-Christian type of Conservative. I was unaware of the mass of Jewish lies in history, especially the lies regarding WW2 and Hitler. So in here you will find pro-Jewish and pro-Israel material. I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

The Israeli government has sold state-of-the-art heavy riot control equipment to Zimbabwe, where it is already in a Harare police station with an Israeli expert on hand to train police to use it. The Zimbabwean police have denied buying the equipment and arrested a reporter who reported on the sale in the independent Zimbabwean weekly The Standard. The Beit-Alfa Trailer Company (BAT) has confirmed on its website that its Jet Pulse Water Cannon System is currently in “active use” in Zimbabwe, as well as in Israel. Israel’s state-run radio Kol Yisrael this week quoted foreign ministry sources as reporting that Shimon Peres, the Israeli foreign minister, had authorised the sale, but had specified that it be delayed until after Zimbabwe’s March presidential elections, to avoid embarrassment to Israel. The equipment consists of what BAT calls “the most advanced and effective riot control vehicles”, including customised anti-riot tankers, which are vehicles carrying large tanks of water for water cannon. The vehicles reportedly include surveillance cameras, microscopic laser guns and gas masks.

The Israeli embassy in South Africa referred the matter to the Israeli foreign ministry in Israel for comment, but Yoram Dodi, a spokesperson, said the matter was being handled by the defence ministry, which was not available for comment. An Israeli court ruled last week that details leading up to the sale be kept classified, but documents that were released indicate the defence ministry approved the sale. Farai Mutsaka, a reporter on The Standard, was arrested on Thursday and charged with abuse of journalistic privilege and publishing “false news” for writing that the police had bought the equipment. Fungayi Kanyuchi, his colleague, was arrested on similar charges for writing that police had sex with prostitutes instead of arresting them. The police have denied the allegations. Bornwell Chakaodza, the newspaper’s editor, was arrested when he went to see them in prison. He was charged with two counts of publishing falsehoods for both reporters’ stories, Brian Latham, the paper’s deputy editor, said. All three were released on bail on Friday.
