I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

300 flee as war veterans run amok on Zimbabwe farms
13/08/2001
At least 300 people have fled white-owned farms in northern Zimbabwe as land
invaders continued to run amok and loot properties in the province, farming
officials said today. Around 29 farms have been ransacked, with household
goods being looted and livestock being driven away by gangs rampaging from
farm to farm, said one official who requested anonymity.
State radio confirmed rampant looting today in Mashonaland West province,
where violent clashes broke out last week between white farmers and
occupiers.
Jenni Williams, spokesperson for the Commercial Farmers’ Union (CFU), said
300 people had been driven farms in Doma, 140 kilometres north of Harare,
since Thursday last week. Police, whom farmers yesterday accused of turning a
blind eye to the thefts and assaults on farm workers, said they had beefed up
security in the area today.
Wayne Bvudzijena, police spokesperson, said 12 looters were arrested in
Mhangura alone, one of the province’s hot spots, and property was recovered.
“We have increased our mobile patrols and arrested about 12 people,” he said,
describing the looters as “common criminals”.
Last week 21 white farmers were arrested when they clashed with black
occupiers on a farm in Chinhoyi,
in Mashonaland West. The CFU estimates that theft and property damage so far
totals over 210 million Zimbabwe dollars (about R33 million).
The farmers who were arrested are still in custody pending an application
seeking bail. – Sapa-AFP
