SubTitle: News from the Israeli Front
I had been wondering for many weeks why the Russians are so very quiet. They are of course
major players in the Middle East. Finally some news is filtering out which is showing what
they are up to and it is not pretty. But sadly, I wonder if President Bush will ever have
the courage to stand up to them like Ronald Reagan did when he called them the “Evil Empire?”
The Russians are the main sponsors of Saddam Hussein, and we must not forget that they helped
him to become the troublesome nuisance which he is today. The thought foremost in my mind is
whether the Russians really can afford to see Iraq obliterated and a new regime put in his
place? Are they prepared to stand around and see many years of hard work just going down the
drain? Or do they have other plans in mind? Remember, last time around, the USA did not really
flatten Iraq the way it could have. The USA mysteriously stopped at the last moment. This time
the USA has vowed to remove Saddam for once and for all. Can this bring the USA into conflict
with Saddam’s main sponsor? I must admit that politically, on the world front, the Russians
have taken the whole idea of Iraqi obliteration rather well. But what will they do when it
is about to become reality? Surely they are not just going to sit around and do nothing while
the USA reigns supreme?
The first interesting statement which caught my attention was recently when the Russian foreign
minister said that if the USA attacked Iraq without UN approval, then it would be regared as an
“illegal act”. This made me wonder if the Russians were hoping for this to happen so that they
could then help to orchestrate and turn the countries of the world against the USA? Imagine
if they and America’s many fake friends could turn around and then suddenly turn Saddam into
a martyr who was “illegally” and “immorally” taken down with “excessive force?”
I have even sat and wondered if the Russians could physically intervene and send troops to
help Saddam, but it would seem as if the distance is too great and there are too many
obstacles for such an act. The Russians generally are cowardly aggressors, and they have
always used third-parties to do their dirty work for them. My guess is, that the Russians would
not dare to oppose the USA alone. Instead, they and the Chinese would probably look for a lot
of allies, (hoping they could get some of the EU nations on their side perhaps?) before they
dared to ever face the USA. I would guess that they are opportunists who would only make a move
if they thought the USA was in a serious pickle. My feeling is that these fake friends of America
are all too cowardly to oppose America openly, but they will wait and hope to exploit anything
which might go wrong for America. They may be waiting for a time when they can safely stick
a knife deep into the USA’s back. So if the US campaign goes well, then they might all just
sit back, protest in whatever way they can, and then grudgingly accept it.
I am sure that behind the scenes Russia must surely be doing things which are aimed at making
things as difficult for the USA as they possibly can.
The Russian stance on Iraq coincides with that of Nelson Mandela, the old closet communist.
He also warned angrily in recent months that the USA must act according to whatever manner the
UN prescribes. I can’t help but wonder why all the communists are insisting the USA should act
in this manner. What do they know which we do not? Or are they hoping the USA will act of its
own volition so that they can then portray the USA as a unilateral aggressor?
I can just imagine them crying out about the “excessive use of force” and other such bunk. So
far George Bush has done a very good job of covering his back and making sure he does things
in a proper manner.
Here is a frightening news report from Israel which I am reproducing in full:-

USA: Syria Moving Forward With Nuclear Weaponry
(IsraelNN.com) The CIA has submitted a report to the United States
Congress in which it reports Syria is establishing the necessary
infrastructure towards developing nuclear weapons. The program
according to the report involves Russian cooperation for “civil
nuclear power”.
The report also warns of Syrian efforts towards developing other
non-conventional weaponry, naming chemical and biological agents.
This in addition to its supply of nerve agents – with Damascus
interested in developing an increasingly deadly and more potent
arsenal.
In a related matter, Syria continues efforts towards advancing its
ballistic missile program, once again with Russian and also North
Korean assistance.
Another interesting piece of information is that the USA says it possesses intelligence
about Saddam’s weapons of mass destruction programs which is too sensitive to be given
to the United Nations. Apparently, there are lots of anti-US spies in the UN, and the
USA does not think this information is safe in the UN’s hands. This no doubt puts the USA
in something of a spot when it comes to justifying its attack on Iraq. Of course, I must
state my view that I think the UN is run by idiots and closet communists, so I support
the US decision.
Consider this quote:-
“If somebody possesses genuine information on the presence in Iraq of forbidden weapons,
or the continuation of attempts to build them, it would be logical to submit such
information to the UN’s inspection agencies — the Monitoring, Verification and Inspection
Commission and the International Atomic Energy Agency,” he added, according to the ITAR-TASS
news agency. URL: http://www.tehrantimes.com/Description.asp?Da…/b>
The troublemaking Russians are slyly making the most of this attempt by America to keep
its information confidential. They are suggesting that the USA has no evidence. No doubt
this is something of a trap. If the USA discloses what they know, then it may compromise
their intelligence sources.
Consider some of the following excerpts from News articles which were posted by someone
on RumorMillNews.com recently:-
RUSSIAN WARSHIPS A WARNING TO BUSH
Nick Paton Walsh in Moscow
Friday January 10, 2003
The Guardian
Russia has put three warships on standby to go to the Persian Gulf within the next month to
protect its “national interests” in the event of an American invasion of Iraq. Russia’s Pacific
fleet has been ordered by the central command to prepare two cruisers and a fuel tanker for
immediate deployment to the Gulf.
The move will heighten tension between Moscow and Washington, who both have interests in
Iraq’s oilfields.
The Marshal Shaposhnikov and the Admiral Panteleyev cruisers would be called upon to defend
Russian “national interests” in the Gulf if the conflict between Iraq and the US escalates.
The ships – armed with missiles and reconnaissance equipment – have been ordered to be ready
for deployment between late this month and early February.

Accusations Against Iraq Are “Gratuitous Chatter”, Says Russia
MOSCOW — Statements accusing Iraq of possessing hidden weapons are “gratuitous chatter” a
Russian government official said on Saturday, adding that such accusations may be being used
as a smokescreen, AFP reported. Without mentioning any country by name, Deputy Foreign Minister
Vyacheslav Trubnikov, said that the accusations being made against Iraq “serve no purpose, and
only strengthen the fear around the world that the issue of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction
is being used to cover up other aims.”
“If somebody possesses genuine information on the presence in Iraq of forbidden weapons, or the
continuation of attempts to build them, it would be logical to submit such information to the
UN’s inspection agencies — the Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission and the
International Atomic Energy Agency,” he added, according to the ITAR-TASS news agency.

Deputy Foreign Minister Yury Fedotov. Itar-Tass news agency.
“Russias view that the international community currently had no proof of a link between the
Iraqi regime and international terror organizations.
No one can provide the slightest evidence that Iraq represented a terrorist threat,
Fedotov said.”

Russia says war against Iraq not in its national interests
MOSCOW (AFX) – The Russian government said a military campaign against Iraq runs counter to its
national interests and urged the US government to strictly abide by UN resolutions on the conflict.
[snip]
“All other goals run counter to our interests,” Ivanov said in reference to the military campaign.
http://www.iii.co.uk/shares/?type=news&articl…
So as you can see from the above, Russia is a part of the problem and not the solution. The
Russians are quietly trying to defend Iraq. Another excerpt from the Tehran Times goes:-
Reiterating Russia’s own belief in a political rather than a military solution, Fedotov was
quoted by ITAR-TASS as saying: “We have noted that the possibility of a political solution has
also been raised in certain official statements from Washington.
“We believe the inspections are proceeding as normal and that there have been no lapses or
refusals to cooperate with international inspectors,” he added.
URL: http://www.tehrantimes.com/Description.asp?Da…/b>
The Russians are also slyly suggesting that the USA wants to get hold of Iraqi oil fields and
that is the main motivation behind the war. Sometimes I think the US leadership is mad to
regard Russia as a friend because I do not see them doing anything which is assisting the
USA.
Since all the closet communists are trying to delay the war, one would assume that they feel
the USA is in a prime position to win outright, so they are all trying to get the USA to lose
focus and to delay what might be an outright US victory.
As always, the biggest worry I have is that the Russians might succeed in their efforts at
portraying the USA as an illegal aggressor who really had no evidence of weapons of mass
destruction. So it is bothersome that the UN inspectors have not come forward with good
evidence yet. I can’t help but wonder if anti-US spies in the UN are feeding information
to Saddam to help him stay one step ahead of the weapons inspectors? One never knows if,
perhaps, there is a frenzied intelligence/clandestine struggle afoot in order to keep the
UN from getting the evidence which is needed to justify a US attack. If the UN weapons
inspectors were to fail, that would be something which would work very much in favour of
the Russian propaganda campaign.
There are some people in the Middle East I correspond with and most of what I am about to
write comes directly from people living there.
I have been told that preparations for war may be far more advanced than people have been led
to believe and that a US attack could come sooner than people expect. But, there are certain
leaders who are kicking against this, trying to postpone it. I am not a fan of Tony Blair.
To me, he is the “Bill Clinton” of England, and I also believe he is an insincere ally of
the USA. Tony Blair is really a closet communist – just like Clinton was – and I don’t think
Blair really supports the USA. But, Britain and the USA have such deep ties, that he cannot
overtly turn against the USA. However, I believe, that in time to come he will quietly attempt
to sabotage and hurt US projects. Like Clinton, he does his dirty work when nobody is looking.
I have been told by someone inside Israel that much of the violence there is never even reported
in the Western media. Only the bombs get attention. Meanwhile, the Palestinians regularly
infiltrate Israel and ambush vehicles and kill people. This sounds a lot like what happened
in Rhodesia. It becomes a part of daily life. Now, thirty years later, this is what life is
like for the poor Israelis. One correspondent wrote to me most sadly saying that a friend of
his, and a veteran of other wars was killed recently in such an ambush. He told of the bravery
of various soldiers who gave their lives so that others could live. It is a sad and terrible
tale of the daily skirmishes and ambushes which the Israelis have to put up with. This sort of
thing never ceases to amaze me. Here you see the Palestinians sneaking into Israel and attacking
and hard or soft targets they feel like attacking – clearly showing their planning and aggressive
intent – and yet, everyone falls for the media propaganda that it is the poor “oppressed”
Palestinians who are the victims. I received some photos from Israel showing Palestinians
joyfully celebrating by holding up pieces of a victim they had just killed. Terrorism is
the same everywhere. It is truly hideous. The Israelis, like us, never practised it
themselves but the Liberal Media manages to twist things so that all sympathy is for those
practising terrorism.
A Jewish friend of mine here in South Africa phoned me one day and asked me if I knew how
many Jewish people had won Nobel prizes and how many Arabs had? I did not know. Then he told
me that in total, only about 6 Arabs had ever won a Nobel prize compared to 138 Jews!!
(Note: And of the 6, some were for the likes of Arafat and were clearly politically motivated –
just like those “junk” Nobel peace prizes which were given to De Klerk and Mandela). Another
friend of mine, who went to live in Israel told me that in effect, the problem you have in
Israel is much like you have here in Africa. You have a group of people who are basically
losers, who can’t do much for themselves, but who have now been swept up into believing that
somebody else stole from them and oppressed them. He said to me that the Palestinians were
much like the blacks in Africa. They could not do much for themselves, but they now covetted
that which the Israelis had built up through their own blood, sweat and tears. My friend had
nothing but praise for the Israelis and their hard work.
I don’t trust Tony blair, nor do I trust the EU which is nothing more than a Soviet Europe.
Can any of these people truly be regarded as the representatives of the Western World? I have
a good friend in Scotland who wrote recently saying that people must beware of the EU. He
said that there was a lot of anti-American feeling expressed in the “left wing rags” in
Britain. But he also said that the average person in Britain was very much on America’s
side.
On can see the closet communist inclinations of the EU. Recently an EU minister, Javier Solana
stated it would be most difficult to justify a military offensive against Saddam Hussein without
concrete evidence regarding his weapons program. The EU Minister is echoing exactly the same
views Nelson Mandela had – and Mandela, I assure you, is still a fully-blown communist – except
he tries to hide it. I keep on wondering how many friends America really is going to have in the
forthcoming attack?
This is where Israel makes such a good friend. Israel will never do that to the USA. I think
the USA has got a lot of sympathy for its cause among common people around the world. But I
think that so many Marxists and closet communists have got into positions of power around the
world, that this evil cabal of backstabbers will do whatever they can to damage US efforts
if they can get the chance.
I also heard that Iraq has already infiltrated special forces armed with chemical and biological
weapons into states bordering on Israel. It will be their job to use these weapons against Israel
when the war starts. The Israelis are preparing for a fully-blown war and they believe they will
come under chemical or even biological attack. They are taking things very seriously. The Israelis
are very concerned that they will be facing “mega-terrorist attacks” from Saddam’s forces in
neighbouring countries as well as from Al Quaida stationed near Israel.
In a recent news release the Israeli Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz told a political forum that
Israel remains dedicated to removing Yasser Arafat from the stage of history. What remains he
added, is the proper time, place, and setting, “and that time is approaching,” he concluded.
I applaud this. I believe that Arafat is a definite stumbling block towards any real
Israeli/Palestinian deal. The old terrorist warlock has no intentions of engineering any peace.
Indeed, I would suggest that the entire PLO organisation be wiped off the face of the Earth
before there is any chance of any settlement between the Israelis and the Palestinians. I
say this because these terrorist types have absolutely no interest whatsoever in any true peace.
For them, peace is merely a carrot to lure their opponents into making futile concessions while
they in return continue to attack and to agitate for more war. The Israelis are far too nice to
Arafat. He really should be assassinated because he is an inveterate liar and troublemaker who
has not got the slightest intention of honouring any deal or engaging in anything which will
truly lead to a peaceful settlement. What he really wants is the gradual destruction of Israel.
The Palestinian state is like a parasite which feeds off Israel’s body. It will grow and grow
and eventually kill Israel.
South Africa also entered the Middle East playing field this week. In this case, there is a dirty
tricks campaign afoot to bring Sharon down by levelling accusations against him of corruption. It
appears his sons were lent money by a wealthy South African businessman some years ago. It has
been said that this was money given illegally to Sharon to use for political purposes. Sharon
denies any wrongdoing but was not even given a chance by the Israeli left to properly defend himself.
His transmission was cut off while he was busy with it. How do we know if the money really was
used illegally for party purposes? If Sharon’s sons borrowed the money, perhaps it was for
genuine business ventures which they were involved in? Either way, everyone, including the left
in Israel is jumping all over Sharon’s case ruthlessly and I wonder if he can survive this?
I have been reminded by my Middle East correspondents that the USA and Britain have really been
at war with Iraq since last March when they began bombing its infrastructure and preparing the
way for an invasion. Apparently the US Military is very concerned with casualties in street
fighting, and this is where Israel is playing a major role in helping US forces to prepare for
this. Traditionally, fighting in cities is a very slow and bloody affair, and it seems Saddam is
trying his best to turn Baghdad into a “Stalingrad”. Apparently Saddam is a great student of
Stalin and he is trying to apply the lessons from Stalingrad in World War II to modern-day
Baghdad. In Stalingrad, the Russians fought the fine German army to a standstill in one of
the bloodiest and hardest-fought contests of history. Saddam is hoping to do the same to the US
army when it reaches his capital. He is forming his troops into two rings, with the most
experienced troops being on the inside. US experts see no problem in getting through the first
ring but they are worried about the second ring. In fact, the “war for Iraq” may in reality boil
down to the “battle of Baghdad”. It is here, where they hope US casualties will be so high that
public opinion at home will turn against Bush as the soldiers are taken home in body bags.
The USA is looking for a quick knock-out victory, whereas Saddam is playing for time and hoping
to slow down the US advance. The longer it takes the USA to win, the more this works against
the USA. In fact, the higher the casualties get, and the more protracted the fighting, the more
likely that other Arabs and waverers around the world will start actively attacking US interests.
Finally, if there is a slow and bloody battle, the Russian and Iraqi propaganda machines can
go into action claiming that the USA was using excessive force, and engaging in a bloody
slaughter of the populace. If Russia or Iraq were to convince the world of this, then the USA
might find that even a military victory would be as nothing compared to the hatred which has
been generated by their efforts. For Russia and Iraq to win the moral high ground, they need
to get as much blood on the USA’s hands as possible.
Other things which would work in Saddam’s favour would be if US forces got bogged down and they
could call for ceasefires. Finally, and this is the really scary part for me, would be if the Russians
could find an excuse to send forces in to Iraq to actually face US troops. What if the Russians
at some point said “There is too much blood, this is all illegal, we need to ‘protect’ these
people from ‘American atrocities’?” That would no doubt be a very worst case scenario.
As things stand however, I think the evidence points the other way. The mere fact that the
US Military is already aware of Saddam’s “Stalingrad” preparations, gives them months in which
to devise tactics, and maybe even modify weapons which can be used in this type of warfare.
Just because the Russians held out against the Germans in WWII does not necessarily mean
Saddam can do the same today. Technology has changed a lot and the USA has some extremely
effective weapons which can be put to good use.
Another question is whether his forces really will put up a stiff fight when all is lost.
Apparently he has ordered his most loyal people to shoot those troops who do not fight.
This is a Stalinist type of approach, but I doubt it means much. No doubt, some soldiers
will merely look for an opportunity to run away. Will even his finest forces be
willing to fight to the last man, last round?
Can the Russians sneak Saddam any weapons which he can use against the US forces closeup?
We will not know until the actual fighting starts. There was an interesting weapon the Russians
developed in recent years. It is a type of grenade which is fired from a grenade launcher. It
uses fuel-air technology and causes a hell of an explosion. Apparently, a single grenade has
the explosive force of a 150mm shell and can flatten a house. I also wonder if there are various
boody traps and poisons which can be left around for US troops? No doubt US forces, with the
specialised training offered by the experienced Israelis will be ready for anything which
their enemy throws at them.
I have also been told that Turkish forces have been taking northern Iraq and approaching its
oil centers. I believe they are working with the Kurds. While US, British, Israeli, and Jordanian
special forces have been taking the oil fields of south eastern Iraq. So while everyone is waiting
for a formal war to begin, the reality may be that a real war has already been under way for much
of 2002 which is preparing the way for a “formal invasion” which will go quickly.
According to my sources, Sharon is the only one who has disclosed that Israeli intelligence
knows that Syria is concealing Iraq’s chemical weaponry and missiles supplied to Hizbullah in
Lebanon. The latter claim was confirmed this week when one of these missiles exploded in a
Lebanese Hizbullah base due to Hizbullah’s inexperience in handling these deadly new weappons.
The explosion was huge, and the casualties were very high.
A final item which struck me as interesting was North Korea’s sudden entry into the nuclear
club and its much more aggressive stance. I wonder if this is another one of the worldwide
communist moves aimed at distracting US attention from Iraq?
There have also been official military announcements in Israel concerning the danger of an Al
Quaida biological attack against the Israeli population. The Israeli officials do not see Iraq
as being such a great danger at this time. They are more concerned by mega-terrorist attacks on
their own population.
So when all is said and done, you can see that there is a heck of a lot of feverish activity
in the Middle East, and the USA may be much more active than we have been led to believe. The
stakes are high, and it seems as if Gulf War II is going to be a very different affair to
Gulf War I. Let us hope that it all works out and that Saddam is neutralised. My only hope is that
we get to the end of all the troubles and that when Iraq goes, that peace really can come about.
Let us hope that Syria, Iran, Libya and others do not end up becoming the next “Iraq’s” of the
region.
