Expected to attract more than 2500 people, the walk – which was sparked by a police officer’s remark in Toronto, Canada, that women could avoid being raped by not dressing like sluts – is underpinned by a loose motto “there is never an excuse for rape”, according to Slutwalk organiser Sandi Schultz.
While Slutwalk has become famous for prostitute-inspired clothes, Schultz says you don’t have to look like a slut to take part.
