DIY: How to build your own home-made Cruise Missile for $5,000

WARNING: This is Version 1 of my old archive, so Photos will NOT work and many links will NOT work. But you can find articles by searching on the Titles. There is a lot of information in this archive. Use the SEARCH BAR at the top right. Prior to December 2012; I was a pro-Christian type of Conservative. I was unaware of the mass of Jewish lies in history, especially the lies regarding WW2 and Hitler. So in here you will find pro-Jewish and pro-Israel material. I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

[I mentioned my chat to the amateur rocketeer recently and a regular Reader in America sent me this awesome article! A guy in New Zealand built a homemade cruise missile. Iran was interested in this guy and the USA had him put out of business. But this guy who built the cruise missile also has an old and popular website in New Zealand!

I was also pointed me to an awesome website called: Rogue Science.

But a word of warning: If you visit some websites like Rogue Science, they will probably monitor the computer which visited it. They will probably monitor its IP address or it may put cookies on it.

Wow! There is some amazing stuff out there for hobbyists, amateur engineers, scientists and chemists! Stunning stuff! It shows that intellectual curiosity is alive and well!

It turns out that Bruce Simpson, who built the DIY Cruise Missile also owns and runs this website: http://www.aardvark.co.nz

What has me curious is that aardvark is actually the Afrikaans name of an animal. Is this guy in any way related to South Africa? I have wondered if the name is not familiar and whether I have not posted something about him in the past??

Its a real bummer that between the US Govt and the New Zealand Revenue Service, that they pretty much destroyed this guy’s business opportunities. There are such creative people in the Western world – and its a shame to see amateurs who could probably go on to invent even greater things later – which could benefit their own countries – are smashed down like this! Surely if a guy like this turned down Iran’s offers, he should be snapped up by people in his own country and assisted in inventing something which could benefit the national security of his own country!

Amateurs can do amazing things. I heard that the Israelis have a Patriot anti-missile system that is more advanced than the US Patriot system, and it was originally conceived of by two guys who weren’t even scientists or engineers. They just begame so fascinated by the concept that they taught themselves and they managed to crack many of the problems needed to build it. I don’t know the exact story, but the gist of it is that a proper anti-missile system was actually the work of two guys who just got down and put their hearts and souls into it.

Given the kind of technology available in this age in many of the shops in malls – people can build amazing things all by themselves if they have a bit of mechanical, chemical and electronic engineering skills. You could probably build serious weaponry for a tiny fraction of the cost that America builds it for. In Rhodesia and South Africa we proved that you don’t need tons of money in order to build some pretty amazing weapons. Jan]

Jan,

There is a gent in NZ that got his “model rocket” building carreer cut short by the government. He built a home made Cruise missile. GPS included and everything – from off-the shelf stuff.

Click here for the DIY Cruise Missle article

It caused quite a stir here in the USA. The US govt put pressure on the NZ govt to get rid of this guy’s rocket projects. Post away – do a google search on homebuilt cruise missile… you’d be surprised at what you find. Click here for Rogue Science

Also visit… be careful, they are being watched, but it is interesting nonetheless.

Here is the article about Bruce Simpson’s Cruise missile!

Iran Woos New Zealand DIY Cruise Missile Builder

Auckland (AFP) – Dec 05, 2003

A New Zealand engineer who made world headlines with his homebuilt cruise missile said he had received “very serious” offers from an Iranian company to invest in the project.

Bruce Simpson said the firm was linked to the aerospace and missile industries, and was one of a number of enquiries from several countries including Pakistan, China and Lebanon.

But after “worrying about the bigger picture” and turning down the offers, the cash-strapped engineer found himself bankrupted by the Inland Revenue Department for non-payment of taxes.

The Iranians made “very serious inquiries about investing in the development of the X-jet technology”, Simpson said on his website aardvark.co.nz.

“I have since had emails from Pakistan, Lebanon, China and other countries, all of which sought to obtain details of the X-jet project and some of which have involved seemingly genuine offers of not insignificant payment for such information.”

Simpson said he contacted the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service who advised it was “certainly not sensible” to export such technology.

Instead he signed a heads of agreement with a United States firm that would have set up a research and development plant in Waikato, south of here.

But the deal was scuttled last Monday when he was bankrupted.

A bitter Simpson said Inland Revenue was stupid to quash a deal that would have reaped cash “hundreds of times the value of the outstanding debt”.

The 49-year-old engineer, website developer and software technician worked within a budget of 5,000 US dollars to build and perfect his do-it-yourself cruise missile.

The “X-Jet” is similar to the pulse-jets that powered Germany’s V-1 missiles in World War II, and the GPS guided missile has a range of 160 kilometres (100 miles) with a 10 kilogram (22 pound) warhead.

Simpson said he acquired most of the parts from the online auction house eBay, including a GPS system purchased for 120 US dollars that “was delivered by international airmail in less than a week and passed through customs without any problems.”

The missile was no longer in his possession, and its whereabouts would be kept secret “until an appropriate time”, he said.

The Rogue Science website has this on its front page, which makes for interesting reading:-

Rogue Science is dedicated to providing quality scientific information for chemistry and engineering related fields. We focus on the dynamic and exciting aspects of science: all that stinks, burns, and explodes. Explosives, weapons, poisons and toxins, commercially important pharmaceuticals, chemical weapons, high voltage, and pyrotechnics are our passion.

Fireworks delight the hearts and minds of young and old every Independence Day, military weapons draw crowds when on display, poisons and toxins have been made popular by forensics shows, and WMD's are a constant political and media issue. Without explosives the vast engineering projects of the 20th century would not have been possible. Life saving drugs are important to the health and well being of every human being. Weapons have preserved the liberty and freedom of the western world for centuries.

It is of vital importance to inspire scientific literacy and for society understand and embrace all facets of science. And yet all too often the ignorant and uninformed shun and fear the aforementioned aspects of chemistry and engineering. Shortsighted critics see explosives as a tool only for killing and destruction, and not as essential engineering tools responsible for much of the prosperity of human civilization. Knee jerk cowards see poisons as suitable only for murder without acknowledging the important medicinal role they have played throughout history. Fanatical zealots see guns as symbols of oppressive regimes while disregarding all instances of great democracies owing their very existence to guns, tanks, bombs, and warships. These same ignorant zealots also fail to recognize that the first step oppressive regimes take to enslaving their citizenry is to disarm them.

Why devote ourselves to these topics above all others? This question is easy: Because they inspire the mind to learn more! What young student has ever sat through a lecture on physical chemistry calculating endless enthalpies and was struck with the desire to become a chemist? Very few I would imagine. How many men and women watching a rocket take flight, or a building being demolished have said to themselves “Now that's what I want to do with my life?” Virtually every chemist at one point in their life has been drawn to the science because of such a demonstration.

The state of scientific literacy in the US is abysmal. If teaching about explosives will inspire someone to become a chemist, then by God why isn't everyone doing it? Maybe someone will blow up a building full of people? Maybe they will blow up the next tunnel to link nations. Maybe they will blow up the next rock wall to extract minerals for fuel cells. Maybe they will blow up a building to clear the way for a new hospital, school, factory, housing project, or church. For all of the explosives detonated in anger, many more were detonated for peaceful constructive purposes.

Terrorists, like soldiers and police, do not make explosives, weapons, poisons, bombs, or guns… They use them. Only scientists and engineers make such things. Science has no right or wrong, it has no morality, it is neither good or evil. Science, information, and knowledge simply exists. It is only how science is used that it acquires a moral component.

“There are people who hate information and knowledge, just as there are those who hate other races, religions, and ethnicities. Every website on the Internet has at least one bigoted hate group that wants to see it removed, and Rogue Science is no exception. But as long as the American flag flies over the White House, and the Constitution remains the law of the land, there is nothing those ignorant, book burning, pathetic, mentally challenged, evil sociopaths can do about it. While freedom and democracy reigns in the world, Rogue Science will stand.”

If you are offended by this website, good! That's how I know I am doing the right thing. If you think this website should be removed then write to your Senator and ask him to repeal the first amendment. Failing that you should start your own communist or nazi party if you are not already a member. Your hateful bigoted attitude towards science and freedom will be welcome.

(187)ยป New Front Page Open

May 16, 2006 – 7:44 AM – by megalomania

After a few years of letting the front page of roguesci.org grow fallow, I have updated it with a dynamic system that is more tightly integrated with The Forum. The new front page better explains the mission and purpose of the Rogue Science website, as well as providing some better navigation to the various areas of the website.

There are many more changes afoot. I have added a new torrent tracker system to Rogue Science that I am currently beta testing. Unfortunately, I have not yet integrated the torrent tracker with The Forum's bulletin board software since it is not yet supported. I have been waiting for over a year for a working tracker that integrates with vbulletin without luck. Rather than wait any further I have gone ahead and added a separate system.

I know as soon as this gets up and running the ability to integrate a new tracker with the board will become available, but we will cross that bridge when we come to it. I would rather start over from scratch and have some experience running a tracker rather than never start at all.

I hope to add even more features over the next several months, so stay tuned to the new front page news column.
