Johannesburg – A 50-year-old vacationer has died after being shot at his Komatiepoort holiday-farm home, Mpumalanga police said on Saturday.
Superintendent Abie Khoabane said two couples were sitting at the outside fireplace of their holiday house in Komatiepoort on Friday when five men, one carrying an AK47, approached from the front of the house.
A sixth man had arrived from behind — and this man fired a shot, hitting a 50-year-old vacationer in the right shoulder.
The injured man tried to escape back into the house, but collapsed and died on the scene. No one else was injured in the shooting.
Nothing was stolen.
