WARNING: This is Version 1 of my old archive, so Photos will NOT work and many links will NOT work. But you can find articles by searching on the Titles. There is a lot of information in this archive. Use the SEARCH BAR at the top right. Prior to December 2012; I was a pro-Christian type of Conservative. I was unaware of the mass of Jewish lies in history, especially the lies regarding WW2 and Hitler. So in here you will find pro-Jewish and pro-Israel material. I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

There is not much more on the newswires this morning than the ‘million man march’ and Mugabe’s subsequent rally. A ‘non-event’ in my eyes. One article suggests that there were half a million people in attendance, but I doubt that. And when you consider that many people were forced to attend, one wonders exactly how many were there because they wanted to be – not for food, or something to drink – but there because of their political persuasion.

For someone who a couple of days ago was keen to open diplomatic dialogue with Britain, he sure has changed his tune…

The government commandeered buses and state railroad cars to carry President Robert Mugabe’s supporters from across the country for a march and rally near Harare Friday.

The rally was a show of strength for Mugabe before a party meeting next month at which his continued leadership was likely to be debated, and before presidential elections next year in which he was expected to run.

“The people will speak. Outsiders must keep their hands off,” Mugabe said to cheers from supporters.

He also ridiculed Britain, the former colonial power, for “discussing us every week in their stupid parliament.

When you consider that Britain has given 40 million pounds in AIDS care, he certainly knows how to bite the hand that feeds his country. But why would he decide to change the tune like this? Is it because the people that he is talking to are known to be agitators – the war veterans? Or is this just Mugabe being Mugabe?

An estimated 40,000 supporters marched from downtown Harare to a one-time sports field in the nearby township of Highfield, where they were joined by thousands more rural supporters carrying umbrellas against seasonal rains.

Ruling party militants had billed the event as “the march of a million” supporters to pledge support for Mugabe as the ruling party’s sole candidate for presidential elections in March.

No official count of those present was available, but it was the biggest political rally seen for several years.“

Not quite the million people that he hoped for, but when his party see their way straight to commandeer transport and override rules, regulations and laws, then it is relatively easy to have a large gathering.

Mugabe has stepped up the rhetoric. And the timing is all-important as well. Next week he is in Lisbon – against the wishes of more than just the EU leaders. AU leaders may have stated that they would boycott if Mugabe doesn’t go, but I believe that is the ‘sheep’ syndrome.

Mugabe is setting himself up to rip into Western and European leaders whilst in Lisbon. And if he can fire up the people prior to his departure, then he feels he has the support of the people in Zimbabwe.

President Robert Mugabe on Friday stepped up attacks against Britain and the West accusing them of interfering in Zimbabwe's affairs and trying to undermine his government.

In a speech to supporters in Harare, Mugabe, who earlier this week announced he would be attending the forthcoming European Union-Africa summit despite protests from British Premier Gordon Brown, accused London of treating Zimbabwe as if it were still Rhodesia, the former name of the country under British rule.

“Zimbabwe is an African country. We are totally independent from Britain. Let Britain there listen to this simple lesson that Zimbabwe is no longer a British colony,” Mugabe told several thousands of supporters of his ruling ZANU PF party, who earlier in the day marched across Harare to show solidarity with the veteran leader.

I don’t think that Zimbabwe will ever be a colony again either. For the simple reason that it has proved itself before, but needs a viable leader and government. Ridiculing Britain from afar is easy.

I do note that he does acknowledge the problems in Zimbabwe, albeit in passing.

You value your country and no amount of hunger or suffering will make you surrender your birthright.

The problem being that ZANU PF does not respect the people’s birthright.

This time, instead of the crowds that spontaneously spilled on to the streets, the Government commandeered the railway service, seized vehicles and rounded up supporters of the ZANU PF party to pack the streets and football stadium of Harare yesterday in support of Mr Mugabe's candidature for the presidential election. By the time that Mr Mugabe, in an African print shirt bearing his own face, arrived at the rally that was intended as a stern message to members of his own party who had planned to replace him in a congress next week, only 20,000 had been assembled.

Not quite the million people he expected, but no doubt, as the propaganda machine swings into action, the numbers will be elevated and the stories expanded to indicate a much bigger attendance than were really there…

I think there are many more people queuing at the banks in town for cash.

A fired-up President Robert Mugabe launched another blistering attack on Britain on Friday, describing its leaders as “kids” who had lost their reason because of their preoccupation with Zimbabwe.

Mugabe told thousands of liberation war veterans and supporters of his ruling ZANU-PF party in Harare that Britain behaved as though Zimbabwe was still its colony.

“…Britain has no right to be sitting and discussing us almost every week in their stupid parliament. Have they no shame, have the British ceased to have any rationality, that every week they debate Zimbabwe?” he said to cheers.

“Once upon a time I believed that (was) because those who went to Number 10 Downing Street were no better than street kids… but when we now hear that in parliament itself… there are continuous debates on Zimbabwe, you begin to wonder whether the British people have sanity at all.“

If Zimbabwe were not on the agenda in the UK parliament, then Mugabe would be slating the UK for that. Mugabe doesn’t care what he says – as long as it is negative and against Britain. How easily he forgets that the UK has given his country so much aid over the years. How easily he forgets the patience with which the international world has tolerated his continual diatribes against the West.

Brown is boycotting an EU-Africa summit in Lisbon next month in protest at Mugabe’s presence. Brown says nothing will be gained from dialogue with Mugabe, and that he must “take full responsibility” for the collapse of Zimbabwe’s economy.

No – Mugabe must take full responsibility. How can the UK be responsible when the only thing that Mugabe accepts from the UK is money? He has banned international reporters, and will only allow international bodies into the country to help if they tolerate his government’s interference – all we have to do is look at the food distribution – way out of kilter because it is done according to political party support. Without a ruling party card – no food.

Mugabe thanked them for endorsing his candidacy, vowing that he would not let them down and would continue to defend Zimbabwe’s independence:

“Where it comes to Zimbabwe, I will never ever give in. I will not let you down and you will not let me down also.“

I mentioned yesterday that I thought that the streets of Harare would be running red with blood. Perhaps over-stated – but there was some of the normal forced attendance and some violence.

But there were scenes of violence in Highfield, Glen View, Budiriro, Mufakose and Glen Norah townships, where workers who had queued for transport into the city were forced onto trucks by ZANU PF thugs, to attend Mugabe's Zimbabwe Grounds rally.

Witnesses said thousands of Harare residents were also disrupted from doing their normal daily business, after Mugabe's largely bused-in thugs went on a rampage Friday morning. Residents of Highfield Township, where Mugabe was holding a rally on Friday afternoon, said spates of violence began on Wednesday when ZANU PF youths began beating up any person wearing red. Red has a historical and symbolic representation of the opposition MDC.

Our correspondent Simon Muchemwa said police and soldiers simply watched or assisted the ruling party's militia as it terrorized the people.“

Typical. Did we really expect anything less from the ZANU PF party?

Many people, including members of the independent media, have been arrested and beaten up and lost possessions, for no apparent reason today. Hundreds have been forced to leave their homes and work to take part in an exercise they do not believe in. Politicians and analysts are questioning the sincerity of Mugabe in the current mediation talks with the opposition when he keeps bludgeoning the opposition.

President Robert Mugabe has expressed pain and disappointment at Zimbabweans who have left the country, forced out by political repression and the country's economic collapse.

At a huge rally before an estimated half a million people at the Zimbabwe Grounds in Highfield, Mugabe said he had played a part in the liberation struggle to bring quality life and values to Zimbabweans.

“My own children, the children that I fought for and spent 11 years in prison now runaway from their own country going to Britain. They say they are running from me. This is our country. Let’s all fight to protect our independence and sovereignty,” Mugabe told cheering supporters.“

Sorry? Run that by me again….

Mugabe said he had played a part in the liberation struggle to bring quality life and values to Zimbabweans…

What quality? What values?

In a country that is experiencing the highest inflation rate in the world, the lowest life expectancy, and some of the most ferocious inter-party violence aimed specifically at the MDC, what values and qualities are there?

Today is the day of understanding each other. Zimbabwe will never be a colony again. If you fail to get sugar for a day, you blame it on Mugabe’s government. How much sugar have I given you all these years?

Should we therefore run away, forsake and abandon our country? We must fight, fight and defeat the common enemy. We should not forsake our revolutionary values.“

Mugabe has given the people sugar? No – sugar was grown by the commercial farmers in the Lowveld, but he soon took care of that…

I know that he was speaking metaphorically – but I do make my point…

Please. Bring me a bucket! I’m going to be sick….

Whilst the war veterans pinned their flag to the Mugabe gravy train.

Comrade Mugabe is ready for the elections. His supporters have sent a bold message that they will stand by their leader even in times like these.

We are a united force and united we shall remain in this march towards the 2008 elections. ZANU PF has shown maturity and deserves the backing of these masses.“

So united that many of the people that attended the rally were forced by ZANU PF brigands after either experiencing a beating or being threatened with the same.

Very united. By violence.

Take care.
