I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

Cunning car criminals in the Johannesburg inner city kept one jump ahead of the police this week. As police raided their chop-shop, they fled down a prepared escape route, which included a bashed-out hole in a wall.
A Johannesburg metro police patrol chased a Nissan Sentra which was being driven in a suspicious manner. As the Sentra neared a building on the corner of Harrow and Yeoville streets in Hillbrow just after 10pm on Thursday, its occupants screeched to a halt and jumped out of the car. They fled into the darkened building and were pursued by the metro officers.
Policemen couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw a large, well-organised chop-shop where stolen vehicles were being rebuilt and their identities changed.
The suspects had almost instantly disappeared, though, and police soon found out why: they had bolted through a hole in the wall. The hole led into a pitch-black alley outside, and by the time the officers with their small flashlights had followed, there was no trace of the suspects.
Metro police spokesperson Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said officers found a number of Toyota Tazz vehicles and a Toyota minibus taxi in various stages of being rebuilt.
Several of the cars were welded together from parts of different vehicles.
A number of BMW engines were also found on the premises, as were two halves of a BMW coupe, about to be welded together.
Minnaar said the police were surprised by the escape route prepared by the suspects, which showed they expected a raid at some time or other.
The police were still trying to trace the owner of the property, he said.
Minnaar added that the Sentra was found to be on a police watch-list as it was reported to have been used as a getaway car in several hijackings.
