[I am compiling questions for PW Botha and will over the coming weeks and months ask him questions, get his answers and write them down. The Bothas were kind enough to send me an autographed copy of the book “Fighter & Reformer” which contains extracts from speeches given by PW Botha. PW told me that he stands by that book and the statements therein, especially when it relates to Apartheid. So I will see what I can do in the coming weeks and months to give out quotes and pearls of wisdom as contained in that book.

I will of course stick to my policy of making as much material public as I can. I am toying with the idea of trying to put the entire book on the internet for the benefit of all.

In that book you will see some interesting quotes and thoughts. The one which caught me by surprise was Mr Botha’s very positive views about the Coloured people. In the book he is even quoted as saying something along the lines of their future is with us – the whites. Later on I will post the exact words. How did PW Botha feel about White/Coloured relations?
(In the book, PW Botha, Fighter & Reformer, he suggests that the Coloureds have no future except to stand with/associate with whites. I asked him how he felt about this now).
2006-07-10:
PW Botha said that in the past, there had been very good relations between Coloured people and Whites. He felt this should continue.

What do you think of President Mbeki?

PW Botha said that he had never met him personally so he cannot say anything in detail. His only remark to me was that he thinks he is œa strange fellow.
